Pierce Brosnan's daughter has died

Pierce Brosnan's daughter has died after a three-year battle with ovarian cancer.

Charlotte, 41, whose mother Cassandra and grandmother both died from the same disease - passed away on June 28 in London where she lived with her husband Alex Smith, daughter Isabella, 14, and son Lusas, eight.

Pierce, 60, told People.com: "On June 28 at 2 pm my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by her husband Alex, children Isabella and Lucas and brothers Christopher and Sean.

"Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon. We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences."

Pierce adopted Charlotte and her brother Christopher, the children of Pierce's first wife Cassandra following the death of their father Dermot Harris in 1986.

He lost his wife and now his child. I was so mesmerized by him back in his Remington Steele days.

Many guys with his fame, looks and money would have moved on, but unlike the Gingriches and Edwards of the world, he stayed with his wife through her illness until she died.

Even now. But that's because he seems like a good guy with a good sense of humor & not full of himself. Hugh Jackman's like that, too.

I wonder why the doctor didn't recommend that she have her ovaries removed after her second child since she knew her mother and grandmother died from ovarian cancer.

Just curious
