A Heartbreaking Discussion about Rachel Jentel......

This interview with the lawyer for Rachel Jeanteal provided a whole other insight into this young lady. Her entire life was changed by a single phone call. Not only does it show a side of her that many people, including apparently many Black ones, refused or didn't want to see but it shows a side of Trayvon that unfortunately hasn't been brought to light by this trial.

She was friends with him because he was one of the few guys who accepted her as she was.....didn't make fun of her looks, her complexion, her speech or her weight. And yet his death caused a large part of this country to do just that.

When this trial is over some interesting stuff is going to come out. The attorney's point about Trayvon sounding not like a black kid but like what a white guy might think a black kid sounds like is very interesting.

usually is far from the truth. People should judge others as a person, simple and plain. I am sad she lost a friend. I know she must be hurting inside. If I am not mistaken even on stand she said she didn't like to show her emotions.

And quite disgusting that this revelation seems to have been ignored so far.

Trayvon may not have been perfect, perhaps, but he seems to have been pretty swell towards Ms. Jeanteal, accepting her for who she was. And THAT counts for something, IMHO.

Not you nor I and not the people on the jury or sitting in the courtroom and especially not Mr. Zimmerman

While I haven't heard any of it myself, I do really hope that there wasn't a severe backlash among our community against Ms Jeantel. It's one thing to be castigated by people who would love to see Zimmerman walk because he killed a Black man, it's quite another to be put through the wringer by folks in your community who should be supporting you.

Nothing I have read gave me any indication that this has been the case but who knows.

But Ms Jeantel is definitely a collateral victim in this mess.
