You can watch both sides give their argument
(jury is not in the room) for and against dismissal.

(2,971 posts)If I'm to believe what's been posted here tonight, the motion was denied for political reasons, as we all know which side the judge has to fear.

(1,799 posts)It's a minority here that either think they didn't or believe he shouldn't have been charged at all.
Yeah, I don't know "which side the judge has to fear. ". Enlighten me.

(145,558 posts)I also believe that the prosecution did a good job of establishing a case. Again, the only testimony here is from a liar who has made up three or four different stories. The lies he told on Sean Hannity will really hurt him. The jury is free to ignore or not believe Zimmerman's story.
I would not put Zimmerman on the stand given the number of lies that the prosecution has already demonstrated. These same lies are more than sufficient for the jury to reach a conclusion about Zimmerman's story.

(145,558 posts)I listen to both arguments and I am convinced that the judge made the right ruling. O'Mara is playing a little fast and loose with the facts that he cited and the facts that he claims that the evidence proves. The burden at this stage is fairly high and the jury does not have to believe Zimmerman's story given the number of times this story has changed.
We saw a preview of the closing argument and O'Mara really has no good answers to these claims other than to argue that you have to believe Zimmerman's story

(8,694 posts)there were no bruises or blood on his right hand. I had to punch an abusive guy in the nose once, made him bleed. (I am 5'2 woman was 100 lbs at the time) My hand was sore from one punch. Trayvon maybe could have given Zimmerman one punch, but there is NO WAY he could have done the pummeling, numerous punches, head banging, and smothering, and not have any DNA, blood, or marks, bruises or cuts on his right hand.

(24,721 posts)I'm relieved, knowing now that the prosecution's thrust will be for the jury to apply common sense to everything presented, including, thankfully, pointing out GZ's lies, contradictions. The prosecution has been surprisingly vague thus far & now we've been given a good preview of what's to come. John Guy should handle the prosecution's summation. I like his demeanor & his mind.
During his rebuttal, O'Mara brought up the "I wouldn't have done anything differently" quote from a Fixed News appearance (around 38:30, same video). O'Mara told the judge "it didn't mean 'I don't care'; it meant that he didn't do anything wrong & wouldn't change a thing". What about not getting out of the car, Zimbo?

Storms that are Green will agree: the prosecution shit the bed today, and this witness was terrible. Wait. Which witness? Whichever, yo. They're all terrible.

Zimmerman hunted him down, picked a fight and killed him for fighting back.
