The Dems have now "triangulated" themselves so keenly close off the obscenely artificial "tea-party" that the Dems own the entire Republican territory, where the "middle" is anything neither "tea-party" nor "Democratic/Liberal/Progressive". That, baby, is how you and I were shunted aside.

In fact it's on reading DU that I learned about a current channel of thought that *identified* the 'tea-party' with 'progressive democratic liberal' as being *the same* kind of "extremist". "Oh yes!" these wonderkinds say "The extremes meet and are identical", giving no more thought to the slogan.
