I've been living so many news events immediately around me that I am having a hard time getting excited or outraged over the whole Snowden drama. The improving economy helped me get a new job after 2.5 years, but like everyone else I am working harder for less. Same sex marriage is now legal in California and ail soon attend a neighbor's wedding party. The heat wave, probably due to climate change, has made this spring and summer the hottest in San Francisco since I moved out here (and I spend 8 hours in a miserably hot office with no AC in the East bAy). My wife's employers just laid off half the staff (showing the economy still far from fully back) and are working her to death. BART transit operators went on strike and made my commute hell for a week. And finally, hundreds of people were injured in a plane crash, some of which are in the hospital down the street. I'm sorry if I can see more going on in the world besides some guy holed up in an airport in Moscow.

The govt spies on us, okay I knew that.

(11,856 posts)I've been thinking along these same lines for awhile now...although on wider issues that affect us all. Too bad some can't seem to direct their enegry toward action instead of constant outrage.
