(25,406 posts)When do you ever hear of anything good that came from Facebook or Twitter? They're usually platforms for stupidity.

(1,110 posts)didn't show anything too horrible that she has said. What exactly is it about her that makes her such a bad person? To be honest, I was expecting some laura schlessinger type comments about women belonging in the kitchen serving their men, but Sandberg seems to be the exact opposite. So I'm a little bit confused, perhaps I missed something?

(53,396 posts)I can see a situation where she really wouldn't know if people knew or not if she was on the flight. I could easily see myself when I went to Denver if there had been a crash of a plane that was on the same day as mine putting on my facebook page hey folks I wasn't on the plane. The difference is I am not famous so only the people who needed to know I wasn't on the plane would know I wasn't on the plane.
nothing wrong with letting people who know you are there or might be there that you are safe.
WolverineDG
(22,298 posts)we (her FB friends) all knew she was travelling out of SFO on Saturday. Should I go beat her up now instead of saying "thanks for letting us know you're safe?"
Gormy Cuss
(30,884 posts)Is she a public figure in a media company who is well aware of the power of free publicity?
That's the difference.
WolverineDG
(22,298 posts)Seriously, this "outrage" is ridiculous!
Gormy Cuss
(30,884 posts)Public figures who are execs in media companies ought to understand that their postings will garner attention beyond their circle of friends.

(12,554 posts)I thought she was just telling her friends/family that she was OK. If she wanted it blasted to the press, wouldn't she have sent out a press release through her publicist?
Gormy Cuss
(30,884 posts)and that yes, it may in fact have been the social media equivalent of a press release.

(3,806 posts)This is pure hate. There is nothing wrong with letting people know that your plans have changed when your original plans would have put you in harm's way.
I don't know who this person is -- maybe if I did, I'd be outraged, too.

i don't even know who this person is, but i imagine the op has their reasons for making an issue here, and i'd bet it's about inside baseball, nothing the general public gives one shit about.

if this person is such a creepy billionaire perhaps you could post an article about things she's done that actually matter to the public rather than this kind of teenage crap.

thanks for realizing that this chattering-class Biddle is spinning fabrications about something--with a few Google hits, one CNN byline (out of maybe dozens surrounding this crash), a brief Wiki blurb--only in order to get his own name and face out
