The presidential race is a distraction - we need to focus on electing liberals and progressives

Obama wins the residency. Take it for granted. Now, how do we get what we want? Elect lefties into the congress and senate.

Do that and watch Obama kiss OUR asses instead of Boners.

Instead of attacking the poster why don't you take the time to educate
The poster is here on DU, it shows they care about democrats
So take the time to show and tell them what they can do to elect
good democrats

The poster made a statement and you did nothing to prove their statement was wrong or misguided.

We're learning a valuable lesson from the Repubs...if you can control at least one house of congress, the Presidency doesn't matter...you can gum up the entire works...

therefore...electing liberal and progressives to the house and senate is job #1 ....even if we lose Obama the Presidency will become irrelevant

We didn't expect the republicans to be this belligerent. We underestimated their heartlessness and ability to act irresponsibly if it was in their best interest.

We will not act like that - ever. Because we are literally better people than they are. We actually believe most of the stuff that we say. They don't and don't forget it. They just want theirs. The reason they always accuse us of such outrageous tactics is because those are the tactics which they would use if they were in our shoes. We are not them we are much much better than them. That is a big part of our problem.

I think even in our best case (a senate controlled by non-blue dog democrats) we would still have to force Obama to the left. He is a middle/right democrat in his heart of hearts not a progressive democrat. Sure - he talks a good talk from time to time. He knows the buzz words. But he also knows who butters his bread and he appears to like butter.

To get anything through. Your swipe at Obama is untrue, since he would have signed more progressive legislation. He's not "kissing Boner's ass" for pete's sake. Boner has real power in the House, thanks to the 2010 election.

They don't have to be wildly progressive, just committed to integrity and law. The races are under-publicized, and your work will go farther. In some cases, the races are nonpartisan, and working for more progressive candidates is less conspicuous. And people can be talked into rejecting ideologue judges somewhat easier than representatives.

If judges are appointed, work on who appoints them.
