The price will be cheaper than at Target. Big Lots has been selling some of her packaged products for a while now.

It's just not cool to be a racist. Racism is alive, but less people are inclined to support it.

And, ignorance is not a defense.

I'm just surprised at how fast and hard she's been, deservedly, thrown under the bus.

159-thousand years ago.

AND.

IT.

IS.

NOT!!!!!!!

It's about the abhorrent and appalling working environment she was warned about repeatedly and to which she turned a blind eye - because it was her brother Bubba who was accused of it - AND HE'S ADMITTED TO DOING EVERY ONE OF THOSE THINGS. Racist behavior, sexist behavior, abusive behavior, obscene behavior, watching pornography openly - IN THE WORKPLACE - in the presence of the rest of the staff (how many of them might have been under-age girls?), ordering the darker-skinned black employees to stay out of sight, use the back door, forcing himself on the female manager, threatening her, brutalizing her, it just went on and on and on and on, if you read the complaint. Just the worst Neanderthal behavior and exhibited mindset I've ever seen documented! It wasn't just one little bitty excusable thing "because that's just our Southern cuuuuuuuuuulture...," it was a mountain of things. A whole mountain RANGE of things!

It was a repeated and consistent display SO awful that I'd daresay NONE of the many many Bible-quoting whiners on the Food Network's Facebook page, referring to passages about forgiveness and non-judgmentalism when they were being the most judgmental of all, would be okay with their daughters having to work under those conditions! It was the kind of behavior that the Food Network's very own "Restaurant Stakeout" star, Willie Degel, would NOT have tolerated for a nano-second. HE would have roared into there and fired that Bubba's ass after watching just even a little bit of that!

And that she still doesn't get it (or maybe she does but she just can't admit it) - Paula, BE GONE!!!

And btw - I've seen numerous complaints about the pots and pans - registered by consumers who complain the paint comes off in the food, the bottom buckles and warps, and after a year or two, they're basically unusable - and often more of an actual health hazard.

But it isn't about her admitting to the so-called n-word so much...anyone in her age group from Georgia or probably any of the other 49 have said it too. But her y'all shtick was tired instantly...not unlike the Blue collar Comedy guys. That stuff is hard to find charming when to some of us, it conjures up more the sheriff in "In the Heat of the Night". Which even as a little white kid growing up in Maryland, sent a chill up my spine when I saw Rod Steiger say "boy" to Sidney Poitier.

Glad you're here! I find it tiresome, too. I found her whole schtick tiresome. And, to be completely honest, I was jealous of all those big diamond rings she always wore while cooking. Made it impossible to concentrate on the food-preparation. Screw the cooking - can I just examine those rings?

in a private conversation, if that is what this crucifixion of Paula Deen is all about, it is shockingly and chillingly over the top.

I know very little about Deen, but damn, Alex Baldwin goes off with homophobic slur after homophobic slur. Where is CaptialOne's firing of him? Where are the threads calling for a boycott of the card company?

Meh, what do I know, I'm just a creepy-ass cracker.

No, it isn't just stufff she said 20 years ago. How many times does it have to be said that it's recent and inexcusable? She wanted to cater events with exclusively middle aged black men wearing bow ties as her servants, Plantation Style. Cute, right? Except she said it would be n#####s. Also, the black staff could not use the same restroom the customers used, but it was fine for the white staff to do so.

One day it was all over the news that she freely admitted to using a slur in a conversation with her husband decades ago. The next day, Food Network (or whatever that channel is called) had fired her, and retail stores were cutting ties. Are you telling me they did that for other reasons? If so, please link me.

Btw, I'm still looking for the boycott CaptialOne threads.

Hypocrisy bothers me.
