I think it sucks what happened, I thought Zimmerman was guilty but I'm also not surprised they let him go. Not at all.

I won't be able to go anywhere if I have to protest every injustice in the country by not going to the places where the injustices occur.

Should I stay out of California because of OJ or Robert Blake?

The issue isn't democrats. The issue is a state where policy and practice basically strip you of rights and protections if you have over a certain amount of melanin.

You might think a state parading that around is worthy of your money, but I don't. I don't give a shit what variety of voters live there, because it's irrelevant. If there are people in Florida who are out to do the right thing, that's great, I'm all for them, but I'm still not going to throw my money at the state until some shit gets fixed.

Here's a line to consider, if you are a Florida democrat:
because of our state's failed record on civil rights, we are losing business every day. It's time for a change of policy, it's time to bring business back to Florida.

You think the non-Democrats in your state are going to give a shit about "just" civil rights? They obviously don't, or else Florida wouldn't have the record it does. Know what I'll bet they do care about? The state's economy. Link the two up, show how the lack of civil rights leads to a lack of revenue.

Or you could just keep whining about how awful yankees are.

Fucking ass hole of a state continuing to be the polar opposite of Florida. Whereas true progress in this country is usually presaged by California laws, people, and economy...Florida is always on the leading edge of what it means to live in a fucked up country.

I live two states up (Tennessee) and haven't stepped foot in Florida in 20 years.

My vacations are to the Carolinas, Virginia, New York and England. My family is going to Boston later this year.

There's nothing in Florida but heat, prickly grass, oil-laden coasts, over-priced theme parks (I live near Dollywood - I can go ride roller coasters every weekend) and a mindset that makes even the Tennessee GOP seem normal.
