I tried to tell you guys this was an impossible fight.Everyone was so emotionally wrapped up they wouldn't listen.

The DA had NO CHANCE in this fight. If anyone had set their emotions aside and looked at the case it was clear

One was armed, actively stalking another. aggression, intent. I saw the case clearly. One party did not have equal footing from the very minute of HIS birth. He was a Black male, assumed to be a criminal. Where is the justice for an innocent boy who had to die the death of a hardened criminal? What on GOD's green earth did that child do to deserve that?

Not one juror thought of how Trayvon felt? He too had the right to use whatever means necessary to save his life, including his fists. What if Trayvon had been able to get the gun from Zimmerman and he shot him to save his life, would this same jury rule him not guilty? All things were never equal in this case.

I am so glad that I have been absolutely swamped at work the past couple weeks. I almost NEVER post on weekends, but I am now because I have hardly touched DU the past two weeks. And horribly when I have, it has been like reading Storm Front or some such disgusting site.

If there is not a massive purge ... I might as well go to some neutral site to read Rightists debating us using the impeccable logic that a past-present participle is not the exact same as a future, pluperfect participle.

Ha! Got us on that one! I mean, it's not like 100% of the people reading the statement knew exactly what was meant. There was a slilght technical inaccuracy. Like "high capacity magazine" does not equal "high capacity clip" to the gunners.

Trayvon Martin is dead but George Zimmerman is free. How in the fuck is that justice?

This case and verdict are causing me to question my beliefs in fundamental constitutional principles like trial by jury. The not-guilty verdict here runs so counter to my sense of what happened (self-appointed vigilante takes law into his own hands) that I know something is very wrong, fundamentally wrong.

If it isn't the trial by jury system, then what is making that huge stink I smell?
