Smack-Down with a "GIANT ELBOW".....Warren style!.....
During a media tour last week to bring attention to a bill the Senator proposed with Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and others aimed at preventing banks from making risky bets with Americans' savings, CNBC personality Brian Sullivan asked her to back his assertion that no law can prevent major bank busts.
'No that is just wrong,' Warren said in response."*

and on that note, I now return you to your regularly-scheduled (and wholly appropriate) Warren Rec.ing

Would LOVE to see her have the support of a sane Congress, tho.

(11,425 posts)the problem I predict, is that because of it, she isn't inherently a MEAN campaigner. She will need a lot of really politics-minded people around her if she does decide to run, ALL of them with VERY sharp teeth and tongues, to attack those opposed to her (and there will be many, I promise).
She is as smart as FDR ever was, but very soft-spoken about it; Franklin was never afraid to be openly belligerent to those people that deserved it, AND make a public display of it. THAT is the thing I fear that she lacks.

(1,044 posts)but she's not a political beast - and to be President, she'd have to be one.
She's just not. It hasn't been her life, her experience, her hope.
I would love to see her in the Senate for a long time.

(14,524 posts)... another "expert" with a "nuh uh, it can't happen" prediction. I'd guess you "predicted" she couldn't get a consumer protection bureau or become a Senator, too.
BTW, what are next week's lotto numbers going to be?

Some folks give such argument as a condescending joke. An effort to defend a failed Presidency.
I actually believe such "rubbish" to be true. I believe we need about 500 more Warren clones. I believe we need a cabinet full of Elizabeth Warrens as well as President, Senators, Representatives, and judiciary positions.

This woman is honest. You always know she will do the right thing and she will not lie to you.
Who knows? She may not want to run for President but the chances are zero that she will if she's not shown adequate support.

(25,913 posts)for president. Just one time in my life, I'd love the real option of voting for someone I 100% agree with. I thought I was close the first time with Obama, but no, he's mainly the compromiser in chief doing the bidding of Wall St./big banks/military industrial complex.

(19,847 posts)She can speak for herself. I like the lead in, but I think its far more important to pay attention to her counter points within context rather than add fuel to the cult of E. Warren. Facts are neither Dem or Rep, they are just facts.

You could see in Warren's face how sorry she felt for the talking head losers and their idiotic paradigm.

Too bad we are seldom allowed to hear alternate views on the corporate owned propaganda machine. These CNBC people know how dangerous it is to allow a lone truth teller even a moment of exposure. They piled on, but she was right on the facts.
