Norquist and Connie Mack were NOT happy guests on Real Time tonight.

One of the best shows in a long time. Neither of the two GOP guests spoke much at all, but Maher ridiculed them (and Teapublicans) for most of the show. It was awesome!

Clearly this is not comfortable for them with all the dick talk and I think it's great.

And Connie Mac reminds me of Joe Scarbourough- not sure why exactly. Am loving Don Savage!

Many similarities. But Grover's sour ass face was priceless - he was not happy to be there.

6. Exceptional. Norquist is on NRA board with a bunch of crazies, yet he was flat-footed by Savage.

7. Off topic: What does "flat footed" mean in your comment?

I can kinda guess, but I have never heard that as an expression other than a medical expression.

and smoothly in case of an attack or in any other situation where he would need to.

An athlete, for example, keeps his knees loose, not locked, and he does not stand all heavy on the flat of his feet, because being that way would make him clumsy and slow in response to rapidly changing circumstances.

On edit: The opposite metaphor would be that to be ready for anything is to stay on one's toes. I'm sure you've heard that one.

11. I have heard "on one's toes" but not the other.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. That's a really interesting expression; I think I shall use it.

I was afraid it might be misunderstood, but that is exactly what Norquist looked like, unable to function.

when I saw that Grover Norquist was going to on but Maher kept control of the show. I really like the lady on the panel. She was fabulous. She took no prisoners.

If anyone could use some ridicule it is Grover Norquist. I mean here we are with the greatest wealth disparity in all of US history and this guy has made it his life's work to keep taxes low for the 1%. And contrary to Norquist's claims, all the evidence indicates that this wealth disparity actually works against job creation.
