(11,641 posts)Especially in light of and in contrast to Dick Gregory's interview where Gregory asks Greenwald if a journalist such as himself should be arrested for his actions.
The part of Wagner's report that stood out was her reference to a recent editorial regarding Snowden possibly standing trial and a jury finding Snowden innocent based on the premise that Snowden could be found to be "morally justified" in his actions.

(36,649 posts)People who glamorize him know nothing of Che's actual crimes, and they don't care. Snowden's glamorization is taking a similar path with the stylish apathetic ignorentsia.

(8,377 posts)I would have thought a prison term would be more appropriate for such a bald-faced lie on such an important issues.

(19,877 posts)1-isn't ALL court approved criminal warrants secret? I can't go to my local courthouse and find out who law enforcement has taken a warrant out on, whether it be a drug dealer or a terrorist.
2-People seek asylum here because our country pales in comparison to the human rights abuses of other countries (minus some red states).
1. As Keith Obermann said to Condi Rice: "Use the Google!"

This secret evidence and orders thing is new and very USSRish. You have a right to know the charges against you, to address them in a timely fashion and what evidence is laid against you. The Obama Admin is saying all of those rights are subject to their approval(ie: you don't have them unless they want to give them to you).
2. Human Rights abuses are rarely across the board. Picking a place to run to that doesn't regularly abuse your gender/nationality or other relevant status is usually a good idea. Also, you pick for how a gov't viewed your actions- the US is sheltering various terrorists because they hurt people we don't like. If you do that correctly, you're viewed as a hero or at least as "on their side" against the other people, and you'll be as safe as you can be.
