Regressing back to the Wild West..

SYG will soon lead to gun street duels. SYG is a stepping stone backwards, back to the same street duels that plagued the Wild West.

I'm guessing it won't be long until we read about how two idiots shot each other dead in a street duel.

SYG replaced "duty to retreat" which put law abiding people, doing nothing but defending themselves, in jail and the poor house for the crimes of others...what are you suggesting SYG should be replaced with?

-- A full repeal of the 2nd Amendment
-- A complete, nationwide ban on gun possession
-- Stiff prison sentences for gun possession

I don't care if you are against these measures or if you think these are impractical. These are what I think should replace SYG. I do not want someone I know to fall victim to some a-hole like Zimmerman and his vigilante views on justice.

Does anyone really think the name is a coincidence?

SYG stands for Save Your Guns. It's designed to raise the hackles of the FNGs of the world.

In a hundred years they'll wonder what humans of our era were thinking for allowing society to be armed to the teeth and wonder why there are so many gun deaths.

Guns are fucking poison to society.

Very well said and I fully agree.

it is set in current times. No horses - but cars. No cowboy hats - contemporary clothing. All people carry guns. Lawlessness just like in the old west. Gun battles, shootouts, duels in the streets. Check your guns as you enter some places. Vigilanti's. Deputize people.

Basically a typical western movie - but everything set in modern times. Really stretch the point that we've regressed and dropped back in time to the old west. Kind of a Twilight Zone episode.

We should have a contest here as to what the name of the movie would be.

Just like all 50 states now issuing concealed pistol permits has tripled the violent crime rate, medical marijuana and marijuana decriminalization have led to rampant heroin use, legalizing gay marriage has led to people marrying their pet turtles, and taxing the rich causes economic collapse.

So you joined up to wring your hands about moral panic, eh?

It'll be a big hit. Watch the aging, gun-toting buffet-goers take things into their own hands and drive the hoodlums out of town in this rock-em, sock-em action thriller that recalls the days of the Old West in a suburb just like your own.

Wasn't that wild. People had to find ways to get along in the absence of much legal structure. We could use more of that however...

Provided they are done in a way that doesn't endanger bystanders. Really its none of your business what two adults consent to.
