Look into your smoky crystal ball and tell us...

If we keep the political status quo for the next 10 years, with a Republican Congress and a Democratic President, where will we be as a nation?

Will we be booming with full employment? Will we be nearing a balanced budget? Will we be out of all our wars? Will we be energy independent?

Or will we continue to sink deeper and deeper into the partisan quicksand?

How badly do we need change?

Given demographics, the GOP won't hold Congress for ten years unless they moderate. nt geek tragedy Jul 2013 #1

that. Because at least when the idiots in the House pass something absolutely idiotic, at least we have the Senate to put the breaks on it.

Which is why they are doing everything in their power to rig the "game" Voter suppression, gerrymandering, etc. If they didn't have their thumb (heck, their whole hand) on the scale, I'd agree with you. Millions more voted for congressional Democrats than Republicans this last time. They still control congress by a hefty amount. That can change, but it'll take time and a lot of work.

2016 could be that cycle.

And when that damn bursts, they're fucked.

In 2016 or even 2014. I like your take on it. Willing to do my part to make it happen sooner rather than later.

Regardless if it's Warren, Clinton or Biden. That's what people need to realize - it doesn't matter who you have in that Oval Office, if the reactionist assholes still control the House, they'll do everything in their power to obstruct and, unfortunately, they'll succeed at doing it.

Either the future is cloudy, or somebody shook up my snow globe again. Or maybe one too many martinis today.
