Grayson organizes bipartisan hearing for NSA critics

NSA surveillance critics to testify before Congress

Grayson said those testifying would include the American Civil Liberties Union as well as representatives from the right-leaning Cato Institute.

"They are both going to come in and make it clear that this programme is not authorised by existing law - and if it were authorised by existing law, that law would be unconstitutional," Grayson said.

The congressman added that Glenn Greenwald, the Guardian journalist who first revealed details of the surveillance programmes leaked by Snowden, had also been invited to testify via video-link from his base in Rio.

"Even today, most people in America are unaware of the fact the government is receiving a record of every call that they make, even to the local pizzeria," Grayson said.

"I think that most people simply don't understand that, despite the news coverage, which my view has been extremely unfocused. There has been far too much discussion of the leaker, and not enough discussion of the leak."

He could be recruiting suicide bombers among the minimum-wage delivery drivers. He could be planning a mass-terrorism event of botulism in our pizza.

You don't want to die from botulism in your pizza, do you?

Why do you love terrorists so much?

Maybe you are a terrorist too.

I suppose in the right intestinal tract, a double meat lovers pizza *could* be considered a WMD (Weapon of Mass Disgustion). Silent but deadly, don't you know.

Work as much as you can to help him stay in a political office.

Maybe he could post again on DU about this?

Keep in contact with his office, its good to know his subordinates. I got great results out of my discussions with my California rep's office and they really liked my input.

Nothing is supposed to be "bipartisan". Grayson must be an cheer-leading third-way centrist apologist tyranical corporate shill.

That type of "bipartisanship" scares the crap out of the leaders of both Parties. It is so unpredictable and beyond their control..

So long as they agree with us, we should accept their support.

They have been reflexively opposing Democrats and Obama for so long that they must be having some real conflicts on this.

This should be easy for them because Obama has chosen to be on the other side. If I believed all that 9D chess stuff, I'd say Obama did that just to force them into the position of killing the Patriot Act. But I don't believe that.

We should work together whenever the opportunity presents itself. They may find it isn't such a hard thing. This one should be a no-brainer. It is right there in the 4th Amendment.
