I've been 90% sure Pres. Obama will approve the Keystone pipeline...and then he says stuff like this

Obama: ‘No Evidence’ Keystone XL Would Create Many Jobs
TPM

President Obama dismissed the Republican claim that the Keystone XL pipeline would do anything to lower unemployment in the country, calling the project a "blip" in terms of job creation in an interview with the New York Times published Saturday.

“Republicans have said that this would be a big jobs generator,” Obama told the Times. “There is no evidence that that’s true. The most realistic estimates are this might create maybe 2,000 jobs during the construction of the pipeline, which might take a year or two, and then after that we’re talking about somewhere between 50 and 100 jobs in an economy of 150 million working people.”

If he keeps blowing up pro-pipeline talking points, green-lighting the thing is going to get really hard.

No, I'm not exhaling yet, and neither should you...but this is very interesting.

That's a lot of my reason for figuring he'd approve this. Plus, there are union interests who want it for the jobs (and who like to bandy the GOP's jobs numbers in their arguments).

Really hope I'm wrong.

I was 99% sure Keystone deal would go through because the firm Hillary selected to write the report was a pro-Keystone firm headed by one of her campaign people and she was set to approve the deal even BEFORE the dog and pony show call for an 'independent' analysis. That State Dept. report had a rigged outcome from the get go.

But rather a sound, wise decision based on the facts regarding safety and blah blah blah.

Like you, I think its good to go. I hope Im wrong
