WASHINGTON The White House says President Barack Obama will address the annual conference of AIPAC, the powerful pro-Israel lobby, next month.
The White House says Obama will speak at the conference on March 4. He will hold meetings the following day with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who will also be in Washington to attend the conference.
The presidents election-year remarks to AIPAC come as Republican presidential candidates question his support for Israel and his handling of Irans nuclear threat. Obama says he is a staunch supporter of Israel.

(4,723 posts)I think it is going to be a mighty ugly war, a religious war, the bitterest, angriest kind of war. I'm sure plenty of rich people will be enriched by it, while millions the world over suffer. I really hope that cooler heads prevail, but it seems that an awful lot of powerful people in the US, Israel, Iran and other countries are just waiting for it.

(1,138 posts)Israel will not be able to knock out the Iranian program. We could but won't. Iran will get Nukes. Sanctions are a big joke. The question is what happens after Iran goes Nuke? Israel may be able to slow it down with covert action is all. Unless maybe Israel decides to Nuke Irans Nukes.
