Bob Filner's attorney says San Diego is at fault for mayor's behavior

SAN DIEGO - The attorney for San Diego Mayor Bob Filner placed "some responsibility and potential liability on the City of San Diego" for accusations of sexual harassment because he said the city didn't provide training.

Filner's attorney, Harvey Berger, wrote to City Attorney Jan Goldsmith a letter on Monday.

Is there no way that this jerk can be recalled or impeached by the city council? Surely the people of San Diego aren't just stuck with this guy for the rest of his term (I hope).

Kind of underway

By resignation, IMO it's coming.

Or if he died or otherwise could no longer carry out his duties.

As to him not letting go...it's predictable...people in powerful positions are addicted to power

In DC people cover for each other, why these scandals usually start away from the DC culture.

There were rumors of a prof chasing skirts back in college when I was a student and he was a prof. I gotta wonder.

He is an elected official, not n employee by any strict definition of the term. His lawyer is trying this in the press and setting the stage...think O'Mara and Zimmerman trial.

Women in his office should have blown the whistle on this idiot from day one. How did it take seven women (and you know there are more) before the cover is off? I suspect nobody wanted to lose their job.

The intent to sue for this has to be filed with the Dept of Fair Labor and Housing. The letter that comes with the civil lawsuit was filed six months before the lawsuit was filed. I got the damn thing on my desk.
