Put a few words together and hope people cough up dough that you can then run away with... Kids, disabled, cops, vets, firemen, cancer, diabetes...

many of these places get away with it by sending out "educational packets" and really have no intention of handing out help or paying for research.

0% my ass-- jail 'em.

made to make the board of directors rich and have excuses for gala balls etc. that they don't have to pay for. That's what charity always has been to the rich.

Granted, there are some I refuse to donate to, but the ones where I do donate are those I can see working all year long to help those they claim to support. For instance, the food banks. I personally know some of these workers and see how many people are asking for help...that includes whites, blacks and Hispanics (no discrepancies)...and most of the workers are volunteers.

Beyond that, I help local families I know are in trouble.

It would be interesting to see who the top members are, how much they are paid and how many of them have box numbers to the same address. I remember a couple Texas brothers who ran several charities for children and their box number was in a tiny building with the same address for each charity. I would guess a high percentage of these types of charities are fake/money makers for a few. Same with the think tanks and tax-free groups that support political organizations even though they say they are non-partisan.

Meanwhile, our children suffer.
