August Photo Contest - Final Round

Let's have a big round of for the 10 finalists in August's photo contest. Once again, the theme this month is Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (and Bikes and Boats).

Now it's your very difficult task to chose the one best photo out of this very deserving group. Final voting will run from now until 10 PM EDT Tuesday August 27th, at which time the new champion will assume the duties of host for the following month's contest.

4. I was blown away by the entries

I kind of had a preconceived notion of what kind of photos to expect when I chose this theme. I must say that I was very pleasantly surprised at the wide variety and quality of work exhibited by all the entries, not just the 10 that made it to the finals.

I frankly didn't expect place in this display of photos.
The finals are an interesting mix of art and reality.
There is one there, that I think exceptional. It gets my vote.

Real film! But I lost all those photos in our fire.

Here's a link to the entries, it's number 13, just no bikes in the finals.

But yes, I was actually expecting more bikes, maybe a cool photo of a road race or else a motocrosser flying through the air. But I was thrilled with the entries, the quality was outstanding.

And that really sucks about losing your photos. I have a gazillion prints and negatives all stashed in one box, I suppose I should do something about that one of these days.

I'm out of town for my Aunt's funeral right now and don't have constant internet access. I should still be able to post a list of the photographers and this month's winner tonight as scheduled.
