1. Reminds me of Wendy Carlos who wrote the soundtrack for ClockWork Orange, Hooked on Bach, etc.

She was Walter Carlos at one time, yet it doesn't seem like anyone (IMDb) has any issues with crediting her as Wendy Carlos today. Folks talked about it for a while, then settled into reality.

5. When I scanned some old Wendy Carlos LP album artwork...

...for my iTunes music collection, I took the time to use Photoshop to gather together bits and pieces of the lettering that read "Walter Carlos" and update it to say "Wendy".

3. Unsurprising trolls would want to make an issue of it.

Reading the thread it's clear that MOS:IDENTITY renders the discussion moot yet trolls keep repeating the same things, that she's biologically male, that the media has yet to refer to her as Chelsea, etc.

The take away is that whatever Chelsea Manning says she is, that's it. It is irresponsible reportage to portray her any other way.
