Former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum is sponsoring #26 Front Row Motorsports Ford car at NASCAR's Daytona 500. Santorum's logo covers the hood and his "Made in America" logo is painted on the Ford Fusion driven by Tony Raines.
In an interview with USA Today, Raines said the Santorum campaign reached out and suggested the idea. "I think it's cool they take notice of us and have a presence in the race. Our fans are the backbone of America. I enjoyed talking to him. It was cool he wanted to touch base."

I hope Raines gets a DNF!

At Daytona they do a LOT of nose-to-tail racing. I'll bet nobody wants to hook up ...

But I hope the race is safe today.

He's had 428 starts - never won a race. Seems perfect for Sanctimonius.

(5,756 posts)4. Well I wish no harm on Mr. Raines
But I hope his car gets four flats and washes out as bad as Santorum.

(41,210 posts)6. I wouldn't trust any car endorsed by Santorum
It would have no brake, no steering wheel, and be incapable of moving forwards, but only of going backwards at enormous speed. And no doubt be equpped with a set of mirrors for the driver to constantly check whether anyone is having sex on the back seat, instead of concentrating on the road.

(17,003 posts)7. Stupid move, too big of a chance to have the car you sponser to star in your
opponents ads crashing or rolling into the pits with a problem.

HAhahahah.
DippyDem
(659 posts)14. The cost was 25,000 bucks per letter. Rick has to pinch (santorum) pennies.
Hope that helps your question.
