Why do U.S. have to do all the work when it could just be left up to Arab League

to handle the problem. It's their own group of Arab states (Syria is a member), and they do have the capabilities to stage a strike against one of their own.

Saudi Arabia, for one, has plenty of air power, naval power, and troops, and they've bought a lot of shit from us.

We are not, once again, the world police.

I heard the Saud family is starting to fight among themselves.

So Saudi Arabia could also go into a civil war themselves soon.

Turkey has a capable and professional military and is a member of NATO. Why are we needed?

If Turkey, and Saudi Arabia are so upset by what is going on they are free to intervene. It's time for these countries to handle their own immediate sphere of influence and it's time for us to cede that responsibility to them. The Saudis are especially notorious and useless and this is the umpteenth time we've intervened in the region to protect their sorry asses - all for what purpose? To spread the cause of radical Wahhabiism? What the hell are we doing?

And Saudi Arabia is already involved by proxy...they are funding and supplying the AQ rebel groups. If they became directly involved, that would probably lead to direct involvement by Russia in support of Assad. Saudis do not want to go toe to toe with Russians....much prefer using their AQ goons and get US to do the heavy lifting.

Prevent MIC from getting more cash.

We need to dismantle the MIC now.

no matter which president is in office.

Sure, we need to dismantle the mic - I post about it constantly - but neither corporate party will do that.

If it does not affect the United States, then why do we care what happens to Syria?

The chemical weapons probably are of Iranian origin, therefore an Arab League problem not the United States.

There are others in that camp in all likelihood. But I'd prefer that be the solution. The US should not intervene.

They seem pretty gung-ho about this. They have their own planes and missiles. Why can't they handle it? Why does it always have to be the US?
