Given all the bad news, in fighting and outright disrespect that I have seen lately. I was looking for some good humor to post. I ran across this youtube vid. This man was way ahead of his time, RIP George.

I finally heard someone speak the way I thought and saw the world.

There are just too many people who take what is shoveled to them, no questions asked. More interested in "American Idol" that any kind of critical thought.
It's driven me nuts about all kinds of things. Too many living zombie like lives, too many angry, like tea party types, for the wrong reasons.

(5,500 posts)This guy was a genius who knew the only way we could understand the truth was to dress it up like stand-up comedy. God damn it George we miss you and we need you now more than ever. So where are today's truth tellers? Where are the people we can trust because we know their agenda is not a political agenda, not a corporate agenda, but a human agenda? Where are the people that can make us laugh until we cry because we finally hear the truth? The truth that the only way forward for most of us is to knock the rich bastards down a peg or two.
Give 'em hell George we're still listening.

When George says, "They don't give a fuck about you", I only wish there was a term denoting 'fuck to the 340 millionth degree'.

(20,805 posts)I think this particular riff is one of the single most on-point explanations of the way things REALLY are in this country. I wish there was a way to broadcast this on every tv channel every time there is an election...then, and only then might "change" actually occur..but of course, the owners would never allow that...

So scrub my life and you will find that I am an honorably decorated discharged disabled american veteran. Hi agent Mike good to see you are still lurking. This has happened more than once, twice or thrice. Just tonight alone.

(5,029 posts)I have been cut off at least five times from posting tonight. I was on the trending banner, I have had many replies and K&Rs. Yet my post which has had more views, recs and posts, than many no longer appears on the home page. Just curious if anyone can explain the irregularities and inconsistencies here at DU.

(28,552 posts)... you can forget "journalists" and other "fourth estate" nonsense, you can forget your preacher or priest you can forget your professor for the most part.
No, in America if you want to hear the truth, you'll have to get it from a "comedian", like George Carlin, or Bill Hicks or maybe Lenny Bruce.
RIP all of them.

(131,089 posts)no medical insurance, no health care--the millions who have lost their homes to the scum banksters? just for a start here, do you even consider the single mom working two and three minimum wage jobs, barely keeping a roof over her and her kids, and just barely enough food on the table.
unless, of course, you simply forgot the sarcasm icon??
