The 1970s Cold War Era Home built 26 Feet Underground for sale

You wouldn’t happen to be in the market for a 1970s underground family home, equipped to live in for up to a year without resurfacing in the event of a nuclear missile strike that wipes out humanity, would ya? Because it just so happens one has just come onto the market. And this piece of real estate gold could be all yours for the bargain price of $1.7 million.

The subterranean Las Vegas home at 3970 Spencer St. near Flamingo Road boasts a 15,200-square-foot basement beneath a two story home above ground. From the street, number 3970 looks like any other American home, except with a few extra ventilation and air conditioning units planted around the yard. Camouflaged by clusters of rocks, an entrance with an elevator takes you down to the underground lair. Another stairway is hidden inside a shed.

so he can make full use of the multiple jacuzzis and putting greens. Or that all the above ground air conditioners will remain in working order and not be stolen for parts.

Typical end times nutcase, thought about only what was important to him and maybe the wife. Somebody wanted all that pink and Henderson doesn't sound like the type.

3. I have driven by that place so many times and wondered why the lot looked so huge.

Now I know.

Love the realtor.com description: two-story, basement. Built-in barbeque. Full bath, downstairs . . .

Kudos to the listing agent, because if you didn't know it was underground and didn't realize that virtually no home in Vegas has a basement, you would never guess.

I like it - except for the pink. And the pink and white. And the pink marble . . . did I mention the pink?

Some big curtains get drawn so you think you are still above ground? Not sure why someone didn't nab this for Y2K.

But you'd have to be really rich to throw away that kind of money for something you'd want to use occasionally..being there all the time would be creepy, IMHO

I'd rather be living on the surface though like Vic & Blood than in that bizarre world.
