Marcus and Michele Bachmann could be heading to prison

http://www.politicususa.com/2013/09/06/michele-bachmann-congress-prison-doj-launches-investigation.html

Although Bachmann may have technically retired from Congress, in reality she quit because the criminal investigations were closing in on her. This is the first time that Marcus Bachmann has been named in reports as part of an investigation. The same troubled presidential campaign that the Department of Justice is looking at is also the subject of an investigation in Iowa, an FBI investigation, and a House Ethics Committee investigation.

The Iowa and FBI investigations are centered on secret payments that her campaign made to state Sen. Kent Sorenson in exchange for his support and help in the 2012 Iowa caucuses. The House Ethics Committee is investigating Bachmann’s potential misuse of staff and campaign finances to promote her poorly selling biography Core of Conviction.

The DOJ investigation stems from information obtained in the FBI investigation that appears to show the Bachmann’s violating at least 11 election laws by coordinating their campaign with a super PAC. (If Bachmann violated 11 laws with her activities, Mitt Romney easily committed thousands of violations throughout the 2012 election cycle. Romney’s super PAC and campaign were so coordinated that they even shared a building.)

It is ironic that Bachmann’s people used conviction in their title because the Bachmanns are going to be lucky to avoid conviction and jail time. Michele Bachmann is in a huge amount of trouble, as it it appears that she was running one of the most ineptly corrupt presidential campaigns in recent memory.

They toss away guys like Tom Noe (Ohio 2004) because all he had was Karl Rove's cell phone on his speed dial. I suspect the Bachmanns know where a few skeletons are buried, and that should keep them on the right wing talk show circuit and out of places where they would have to use the Fifth Amendment a lot.

"Core of Conviction" tells the story of one woman's jihad against the tyranny of tolerance. It's not always a pretty story, but then waging holy war against agents of diversity and other belief criminals is never pretty. It's just something that must be done before the Prince of Peace returns to cleanse the world with fire.

"Core of Conviction" is also a love story. It tells the tale of how Rep. Bachmann met her soulmate, Marcus, and how the consummation of that love led to one of her most important pieces of legislation: the "Light Bulb Freedom of Choice Act of 2008."

Rep Bachmann may never achieve the presidency, but by simply running, she's promoting important issues. Someday, as Americans bow their heads in compulsory prayer, they will thank her for preventing the imposition of sharia law. Not-men will also thank her for freeing them from the responsibilities of managing their uteri. And many very excited men--men like Marcus, who are fully committed to the heterosexual lifestyle--will thank her every time they purchase GE 48688 60-Watt A19 Reveal Bulbs, 4-Pack.

snip: To anyone else, her pandering to her political base and interjections are quite revealing to the point of being inadvertently amusing. Throughout the book, she contrasts the difficulties of her life with her critique of American government - the most memorable comparison was her settling for a sub par prom dress because unlike the government she could not print her own money.

Didn't she "reject" swiss citizenship? The last thing Thurgau needs is an influx of Bachmanns. Well, the last thing any place needs, to tell the truth. But if she thinks that the US gov is too socialistic, Switzerland isn't the place for her. By her metrics we're Stalinists.

you go into the article linked, it says it was the decision of the children. It is a done deal, it's not a a matter of anyone saying 'thanks, but no thanks.'

With legal issues and possible loss of wealth here, it would be feasible for her, Marcus and the children, to take an extended holiday soon.

And like every characer who screams 'socialism' here, she and the family will find a way when she can get a benefit, just like Ayn Rand did. The 'producers' always feel they are entitled.

She can still complain like the baggers protesting the ACA did:
