We're Told We Spend So Much Tax Money On Defense Because We Need To Protect....

ourselves and be prepared to defend. I'm beginning to think that it's almost the other way around - that we have these wars so that we can justify the tremendous amount of money we spend for this state of readiness.

Kind of convoluted thinking but do you think this is how they think?

We have this large army. We can't let them sit idle. We have to put them to work. Otherwise - why have this large army? Let's throw a war so we can get our money's worth and justify our spend - justify our existence.

My thoughts for the night - now I'm going to bed. Probably won't be able to sleep with all this war talk - but I'll try.

War is an industry. It is one that is hard to quit. Witbout it, how many jobs would have to be created to absorb the manpower of the war machine?

.. that's a fact. We have infinite dollars to spend on "defense" and "surveillance" because the companies offering these products don't have to actually perform in the way they would have to in the real marketplace.

It's a cushy deal, and you are not in on it.

If we don't get this war, they'll find other reasons to protect our investment in the MIC.

Too bad our government is no longer about the people and of the people. They have shown us over and over again that they are out for themselves.
