(19,581 posts)but in the case of Syria, we have tired peace with Assad, and as soon as he felt threatened he went the way of his family in the past. This is not the same as Viet Nam, and it is not the same as Iraq. Giving peace a chance is a novel idea, but it doesn't always work.
