My daughter made a very astute observation last night. We were discussing this crisis, and I told her my opinion of the whole matter. She said she can tell by watching and listening to Obama that he doesn't want military action; he's different than when he usually campaigns for something he wants.

Thanks for the rec.

case in point, THE PRESIDENT had every chance to extend the occupation of Iraq. And he bowed out as quickly as possible. Means no more of my soldiers are dying in Iraq.

This president is not a war monger. If he thought missiles strikes would prevent more usage of chemical weapons, he would do it. He is, clearly, open to every other idea out there. Hoping the Russians are not bullshitting on this.

Or to be more precise - we should trust that the President knows what he's doing; he has more information than we do. Which is problematic because the information i can see doesn't justify lobbing bombs at Syria even with congressional approval- let alone without.

I do think it's better not to draw obvious rhetorical red lines. You box yourself in that way. And you can convey the seriousness with which you view something without using that language.

he ended one war. He has clearly won every showdown with the House over the budget. He got taxes raised on the uber rich for the first time in 35 years. DADT is gone, I now have a female 13M driver in my MLRS battery and all the gays can get married and put themselves in purgatory like the rest of us.

yeah, its brainless to support the president when he actually gets shit done. Sorry to rain on your pity party

The Iraq war ended on the SOFA made by Preznit Boooosch.

"...clearly won every showdown with the House over the budget"--if that was winning, I'd hate to see what losing looks like. We did get the sequester, didn't we? That was a "win"?

"He got taxes raised on the uber rich for the first time in 35 years"--all he had to do was NOTHING to get taxes raised not just on the uber rich, but the rich.

DADT was hardly a singular victory on Obama's part, and "all the gays can get married" was a) a Supreme Court decision and b) doesn't apply to all the gays.

You will have to try harder, or more appropriately, Obama will.

In a case where I'm denied the knowledge, I'll always stand by personal principle before pledging blind allegiance to "the leader". Thankfully, in regard to Syria most of my fellow constituents agree with me.

Blind allegiance or, what, doing the job yourself? Because that's the only way you'll have all the knowledge.

It's not blind allegiance, it's letting them do the job. They were elected to do it.

that things maybe panning out in favor of America.

Poor gopers are losing their "edge" of implementing the impeachment, oh wait, it doesn't matter, they will still do it. Right now instead of anything concerning a jobs bill they are planning on another vote to defund Obamacare and try and trap the Dems.

Sequester? Na, more cuts like snap so they can feed the weathly. What is the hous gopers doing right not besides trying to defund Obamacare, absolutely nothing.

So hell yea, chill out, Pres O got this.

Speaking at a news conference with British Foreign Secretary William Hague, Kerry said that al-Assad “could turn over every single bit of his chemical weapons to the international community in the next week.”

The U.S. secretary of state described that as an impossible scenario.

“He isn’t about to do it,” Kerry said. “And it can’t be done, obviously.”

The State Department later sought to clarify Kerry’s comment as a “rhetorical argument,” and one U.S. official called it a “major goof,” adding that America’s top diplomat “clearly went off script.”

“There is no one in the administration who is taking this Syria proposal seriously,” the official said.

He HAS got this despite the naysayers, doubters and other who carp at and criticize him every chane they get.
President Obama is doing an outstanding job and my faith in him remains unshaken.
Much of the shit thrown at him underscores the fact that if you are black you have to be twice as good at your job in order to get half the credit.
And it is said that some he is often judged that way by people who call themselves liberals.
