Police fail to find gun allegedly used by George Zimmerman to threaten wife and her father

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/09/09/george-zimmerman-gun-incident-florida-trayvon-martin/2788443/

No proof of assault confirmed either.

Deputy Police Chief Colin Morgan said officers have not recovered a gun.

The dispute "was between him and his wife and her father,'' Morgan said. "There were some allegations that there had been an assault, but we could not confirm any of it. Witnesses do not want to speak to anyone until they speak to their lawyer.''

The 911 call, which Morgan described as a "domestic violence call,'' came in around 2 p.m. Monday.

Morgan said that when officers received the call, they understood it was from a house in the central Florida town where Zimmerman had been living.

Do you define "support of Zimmerman" as not planting a gun?

If they didn't find a gun, they didn't find a gun. They had two witnesses who said this occurred, so they arrested him. They aren't supposed to lie about what they found, and if they can't turn up decent grounds (witness statements, etc), then they'll have to let him go.

And it is here, too.

Bracknell said police would document the incident thoroughly in case Shellie Zimmerman or her father changed their minds about pursuing charges.

Officers were also reviewing surveillance video from the house which may have captured what happened.

Police seized Zimmerman's gun, but Hudson said "more than likely we'll be giving it back."

Shellie was absolutely freaking out about that. A woman where, do you suppose? In Zimmerman's car?
The fuck had body guards with him to come over and rough up Shellie and her dad?

the tape off? Were they disconnected or is there something else?

Who's paying all this money to pay for bodyguards? It can't be all from small donations. Someone or something (NRA maybe) fronting this money?

The biggest danger to Zimmerman is Zimmerman himself.

But fire officials who responded to the scene “checked everyone physically” and found that “no one had any visible marks or needed any treatment,” according to Hudson.

if that were true, and I've treated enough punched noses to know, there would be physical evidence of this and the police would be required to take pictures and make an arrest.

Not defending GZ, but did Shellie maybe embellish her story a little bit and then have to walk it back when Paramedics found no physical or visible marks?

Just like her saying he had his hand on his gun and then have to admit that she didn't see a gun?
Something here doesn't pass the smell test.

Did an altercation take place? I believe so. Was it as bad as claimed on the 911 tape by Shellie? The follow up investigation hopefully will clear that up, but at the moment, it looks like it wasn't as bad as the 911 call indicates.

Bracknell also stated that initially Shellie Zimmerman told officers that she had seen her husband touching his gun, but that she later told police she never actually saw the gun. The police chief said that, based on his understanding of Shellie Zimmerman's intentions, she will not be pressing charges at this time.

George Zimmerman could, however, face charges involving violations of Florida's domestic violence laws. The Lake Mary Police Department is currently working with the Seminole County State Attorney's office to see if they have a strong enough case to pursue such charges, but according to Bracknell, "We simply do not have a case at this juncture."
