Wisconsin Republican Senator Proposes Bill That Labels Single-Parenthood As Child Abuse

Not a day goes by in this topsy-turvy, mad max eschatology that Republicans have created where a Republican politician isn’t uttering some certifiably insane, hateful malarkey that would make Charles Manson blush. Whether you’re gay, black, female, or a spore with feelings, Republicans do not like you if unless you aspire to be a white christian millionaire.

Sen. Glenn Grothman (R-West Bend), a Republican in Wisconsin’s state senate, thinks that children from single parents are probably victims of child abuse. In his world, a deadbeat dad (Joe Walsh, anyone?) is an American hero whereas the single mom is a disordered, unstable Harlot and should probably be raped by a state doctor. But seriously, Grothman recently authored a controversial bill that directly targets single parents, which the State Senator plans on presenting to the Senate Committee on Public Health, Human Services and Revenue.

A portion of the bill reads as follows:

“In promoting those campaigns and materials, the [Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board] shall emphasize nonmarital parenthood as a contributing factor to child abuse and neglect.”

No word yet on whether single parents are covert Muslim socialist/Maoists.

He's rendered this former single mother speechless. I just cannot wrap my head around this right now. Coming on top of all the other blatant hateful war-against-women state and federal legislation from the past few weeks, I don't think I can take any more. There's so much to say with this, I don't even know where to start. Did we all just wake up in the fucking twilight zone a few weeks ago whereby it's really 1951?? I'm beginning to wonder.

And what about single dads? Oh, right, to this joke of a "legislator", they're probably the victim of those evil, heartless women and should be viewed as heroes. Gag.

Some people choose divorce because a partner has become abusive....maybe a partner who is 50% Dr. Jekyll 50% Mr. Hyde is just not good enough anymore... And leads to divorce...

I read on DU somewhere that some old authoritarian white males are beginning to feel passé and a youthful, handsome, intelligent Democrat in the White House, a man of color, sets their hair on fire.

They are dinosaur brains trapped in 2012. I don't understand it at all. Can't they perceive what is coming? I am woman see me roar?

I believe we are seeing the last dying throes of desperation to stop the generational and paradigm shift that is occuring from people who don't want to give up their privileged positions and who don't like the increasing diversity. It's going to get worse before it gets better, but it's always darkest before the dawn. They WILL finally lose, but they're going to get even crazier before they do.

Just what we needed - more proof that the Republican Party has a serious social disease that obviously effects their collective brains. You're just helping the rest of America realize how whacked your Party is.

It seems like the Repubs are in a last ditch effort to spew out every
last bit of prejudice rhetoric that they can, as they go down with their
sinking ship!

Let's take the children away from all the single parents!

Let's put divorcees in concentration camps with all the gays!

Let's protect America from all the abnormal people!

Let's steralize all the misfits!

Let's arrest everyone who doesn't go to church on sunday!

Let's euthanize anyone wh isn't Catholic!

We are fighting the Taliban enemy and they are us!

The world can be repopulated by Christian, skinheads named Adolph!

Let's just let the GOP get it all out in the open so they can have their say
before we put the whole party to rest for contracting terminal stupidity.

Where do we draw the line?
Why do people still vote for these nuts?

Sorry that this is so mean and stirs up bad emotions but this is what they are saying...
Either you do what we want you to do or we'll pass laws that make your life miserable
because, well, we just don't like people who are different from us!

KMA!

Edited for spelling - Oh let's criminalize spelling errors! Yeh, that's the ticket!!
