I come to bury Breitbart, not to praise him.

They say not to speak ill of the dead. That's very hard to do in the case of someone like Andrew Breitbart, since he made his career of off saying nothing but ill of other people.

Andrew Breitbart was a petty little man who used lies, distortions, and a well-funded media megaphone to make people's lives miserable. He was a megalomaniac who destroyed the lives of many people, both public and private figures.

My sympathies to his loved ones. There must have been some aspects of him that you saw that we did not. I hope you make these facets known in the coming days. And I hope that he may finally find the peace that he denied so many others at long last.

sleeping at UCLA medical center.

Natural causes at age 43? And he was an old looking 43, if you ask me.

The last time I saw him in action was on that infamous video screeching at the OWS people, yelling "Rape" or something like that. He looked drunk off his ass.

He was a very mean and cruel man. He radiated hatred. He delighted in being unkind and intolerant. That kind of shit will eat you up, I'm sure.

He went "out walking" after midnight, with his father-in-law. He collapsed and they called 911, taken to hospital and they pronounced him. The article said he had "a history of heart problems last year". (but that could mean anything)
I find it odd that in the middle of the week he is out walking after midnight, maybe did some cocaine and couldn't sleep?

I never pegged the Beans for wingnuts.

The way I read it is that he died after midnight, after being transported to UCLA med center--not that he was necessarily walking after midnight (shades of Patsy Cline). He might have been walking the dog before or after the late news and been struck down then.

We'll know more in time, I'm sure.

Old looking guy for 43. Unhealthy looking, too.

I've got better than a decade on him and I saw in him the worst parts of my life a decade ago. He just looked like the poster child for pulmonary problems.
I won't miss him, he barely got above my radar. I never did any cocaine but I could understand that it could be a factor in his death. I have been known to go walking after midnight but it is because physical effort helps boost my melatonin and relaxes me to the point I can go to sleep.

...Twitter, the medium where Breitbart confronted his critics with often abrasive messages. Indeed, Breitbart’s final message called a follower “a putz.”

How fitting for his last twit (or whatever you call it). The guy choked on his own bile. The world is a better place without him.

You mirror my sentiments. My heart goes out to his family, but on a personal level I feel no negative emotions.

He dedicated his life to spreading hate and disinformation. I feel no loss in the passing of a person of such him. Even though I can feel sympathy for his family.

Brietbart's troubles are over. It's his family who now has to carry on. I'm not going to do any grave-dancing over this. The Republicans showed ZERO CLASS when Ted Kennedy died. I'm not going to give them the satisfaction of sinking to their level.
