Greatest delusion ever? "Well, maybe the Republican Party is just too smart for the average voter!"

“Conservatism is too cerebral for many Americans,” writes Rachel Alexander at the Christian Post. She claims that Republicans continue to lose elections “because people are lazy” and simply not smart enough to understand why Democrats are wrong on the issues.

“While Americans deep down prefer shows like Duck Dynasty, they're allowing the left to win on social issues,” Alexander said. “Republicans need to quit lamenting over the backwards fact that the most intelligent party is not the most successful.”

One way to change to “turn the tide” and improve the GOP’s image as a “cold and heartless” party, she writes, is to shame women who seek an abortion: “Portray the woman who wants to abort her baby as cruel and selfish, and showcase those children who grew up with permanent injuries as a result of an attempted, botched abortion. These kinds of portrayals must be done frequently and everywhere.”

That explains it. Christine O'Donnell and the birthers are just too intelligent for all the America troglodytes, you know, pretty much everyone now.

So, while I get that she has a major problem with abortion, I'm not sure how she equates Duck Dynasty fans with pro choice positions.

Right wing-nuts ought to be grateful that American voters are lazy. If the average American voter sat down and thought about what his or her political and economic interests really were, as opposed to allowing force-fed lies and hysteria to sway their voting decisions, the Republican Party would dry up and blow away.

What has Duck Dynasty got to do with anything, except that at least one of the dynasts is a right-wing pig whose name has been floated for Congress in La.?

Oh, and "showcasing those children who grew up with permanent injuries as a result of an attempted, botched abortion" might prove rather difficult, because now that abortion is safe and legal, there really aren't any.

Makes sense they'd watch that and mimic the motions as Chauncey Gardner did in "Being There." (Brilliant film!)

Never seen it, no cable anymore, don't care.

Pushing shame is, of course, “cold and heartless”, when there's nothing to be ashamed about.

Wow..The last 2 years was logical?
Cock-blocking the government was logical?
The multiple manufactured scandals were logical?
Gohmert is logical?
Conservatism is something more than unimaginative people fearing change is logical?
To feel any sort of respect to the people who fell out of golden vaginae even though our Declaration of Independence ends it's preamble with "All men are created equal" is logical?

Guess you have the King James, easy living dictionary of latter day saints. Cause mine don't do "Logical" that way.

Many Americans, close to 50%, are too stupid to understand that the Republican party is actively hurting them. They are too easily kept in place with platitudes about abortion and morality (a.k.a. religion) even though those in power will never actually change these things for fear of losing their base.

Now, where the Republicans are smart is in manipulating those people. It doesn't mean tht conservatism is good for the country or that their "smartness" is a plus in terms of running government.

We're at war with educated people". Rove himself said that when people go to college they start voting Dem, and that proves that oo much education is a bad thing.
