Arkansas mayor accidentally fires rifle seized by police, shattering city hall window

An Arkansas mayor admitted this week that he had accidentally fired a rifle inside city hall, shattering a window.

Flippin James “J.J.” Hudson told the Baxter Bulletin that nine days after he fired the rifle that had been seized by police, the incident had been “all been taken care of; it’s all been cleaned up.”

“I’m not going to have any further comment on it,” he said.

2. 1) The police didn't bother to check whether a seized rifle was loaded,

2) the police chief casually left this unexamined rifle laying out in the open, and 3) the mayor wandered around city hall toying with items (evidence?) that he had no business playing with?

7. Hard to say who was more stupid

The police for not unloading it or him for not checking. Only a complete moron would pull the trigger on a weapon without confirming it was unloaded. Even then, dry firing a gun is not good for the firing pin.
