FBI infiltrator in anti-war movement ( do you recognize them? )

http://www.fightbacknews.org/2013/9/19/fbi-infiltrator-anti-war-movement

Anyone recognize these two women? I think "Karen" might be from Boston P.D..

the raids happened to my fellow peace friends in Minneapolis... 7 of the 8 are women. 2 sets of same sex couples with young children when the raids happened

Minneapolis, MN – With the third anniversary of the FBI raids on anti-war and international solidarity activists approaching on Sept. 24, we are reprinting the above photo of “Karen Sullivan" (right) with her associate, "Daniela Cardenas." These agents are dangerous to progressive activists. If you see them or are in contact with them, make their presence known to others in the peace and justice movements.

Starting a few months before the protests against the 2008 Republican National Convention in Saint Paul, Minnesota, a law enforcement officer going by the name “Karen Sullivan” infiltrated the Twin Cities Anti-War Committee (AWC). She joined the AWC in April 2008 and about a year later she joined the Freedom Road Socialist Organization. Her associate “Daniela Cardenas” then appeared on the scene.

Conversations between attorneys for the raided anti-war and international solidarity activists and the U.S. Attorneys Office in Chicago have confirmed that these professional liars did their best to put a criminal cast on protected political activity.

These two, along with their higher-ups, are responsible for causing the raids on the homes of anti-war and international solidarity activists in the Twin Cities and Chicago and for the wave of grand jury subpoenas – 23 in all – that were served on progressive activists. Using their lies, the government is attempting to manufacture a case alleging “material support of terrorism.” These two posed as friends and political colleagues, while working full time to destroy progressive and revolutionary organizations.

All of the activists involved refused to testify in these McCarthyite grand jury proceedings and have continued to build resistance to these attacks on civil liberties.

On Sept. 24, the Minnesota Committee to Stop FBI Repression will be holding a rally under the slogan, “Three Years Too Many! End the Investigation of Anti-War and International Solidarity Activists Now!” The rally will take place at the Minneapolis Federal Building, 300 South 4th Street, at 4:30 pm.

In a statement promoting the rally, organizers say, “Since 9/11 national security has been used to justify wars abroad and attacks on civil liberties at home. In September 2010, FBI agents raided the homes and offices of Minneapolis and Chicago peace activists, investigating them for ‘material support for terrorism.’ Demand an end to the bogus investigation and unite against the growing wave of political repression. Stand with the anti-war 23, targeted Arabs and Muslims like the Holy Land 5, jailed people’s attorney Lynne Stewart and whistleblowers Chelsea Manning and Edward Snowden.”

As a victim of the FBI's COINTELPRO program in the 1970s I am well aware of the government's role in infiltrating and disrupting groups that work for peace and justice. Some things just never change, do they? For folks that are too young to remember the anti-war movement against the Vietnam War, look up "Tommy The Traveler" or COINTELPRO.

I think the the Committee to Stop FBI Repression has done a super job. It's been three years. It's time to return the computers and personal papers that were seized from these people and end the investigation.

Its interesting (and frightening) to think what might have happened had Aaron Kilner not beheaded himself in front of his children.
As it was, he was more or less replaced by a pair of Pan Tilt Zoom cameras that were installed shortly after his death at "The Peace Corner". His reputation was not stellar among his previous victims, and obviously it takes a special kind of parent/Sheriff/JTTF member to intentionally blow a stop sign on a motorcycle in front of your children.
You have given me something to think about AnnM, and I salute your tireless efforts, from the bottom of my heart.
Cops in this line of work are not to be trusted, and they do a lot of damage to what should be an inviolable social contract.
SHAME ON THEM!

He was the agent that infiltrated PeaceFresno. I knew he died in a motorcycle accident and I know PeaceFresno never received the report from the ALCU about what the JTTF gathered about them.

Who were his previous victims?

What more do you know about Aaron?

at Roeding Park. It was a while back, so I cant really pull any details or specifics from the old noggin,
but the community impacted by his work said he was in no way above board.
Shame to talk about the dead this way, I suppose, but just imagine what might have happened
had he not killed himself?
And to the bitter end Vincent defended his possible innocence.

I think some had a hard time dealing that Aaron was just a kind soft spoken person he portrayed himself to be.

So many don't know of the continued abuse of those in Peace Fresno. and why it is amazing PeaceFresno continue today and amazing they had an Occupy Fresno for so long. Now,, if we could only get an investigation and prosecution of those who order and participate on the continued attacks of the Homeless in Fresno.

That circumstance is very difficult to imagine.

greed of power or money. I have learned others will infiltrate because they want a higher in power position or money.

Leading up to the RNC 08 here in the twin cities we had several trials or hearings that involved "infiltrators" and i went to some of them and learned about why and how infiltrators become infiltrators. learned from ret. FBI agent and a ret. CIA agent.

none of them did it for noble reasons.. they did it to move up.

The spying on PeaceFresno was done to get Homeland Security money for the Fresno county sheriff's dept.

who needed spy cameras on Peace Fresno people.. just everyday citizens. The freepers were taking pictures of them every Friday.
an posting it on Free Republic website for all to see. They made delusional comments about Peace Fresno.

Peace Fresno's crime? protesting and organizing. It only made Peace Fresno stronger.. and inspired others to form PeaceFresno's in their cities or towns. and instead of standing on a corner with and written signs.. there is now the Fresno Light Brigade... awesome.

and the sorts of people who seek those positions can tend toward the less than responsible sort.
Clearly many of the setups and numerous incitations to planning of violent acts by infiltrators
tells the tale of where things may have gone had there not been a fatal interruption.
We both know there was no wrong doing on the part of anti-warriors.
We both know there was wrong doing on the part of Sheriff Pierce in numerous cases, and the department
when they retaliated by arresting KH for calling them to complain about a Free Republic sexual assaulting pervert
who was at the Courthouse Park to disrupt the planned and permitted Rally.
These actions are/were not above board, and serve no public interest.

Seems that cops are the ones that take a peaceful protest and try and up the rhetoric to get people to do illegal things.
I have read story's that show that these criminals try that very thing, then start arresting people, saying that they NEVER fomented anything.

I wonder how they feel about being a tool for the elite?
Of course, they will wrap themselves in the flag and say that they had to do it fort...wait for it...FREEDOM, or some such tripe.

I dont trust them.

17. I have a suspicion about their justifications/motivations/rationalizations
Sat Sep 21, 2013, 08:46 AM
Sep 2013

I believe people who have been through the military and lucky enough to come out the other side alive and
intact enough to maintain employment (as opposed to the many who end up homeless, grievously wounded or
dead by their own hand or anothers) are proud of their service, angry about the others who were not so lucky,
and INVESTED in the culture of violent oppression that America spreads through foreign policy.
I believe many of those conditioned by the military cannot easily see themselves or their country as the bad guys,
no matter what history or public sentiment suggests.
They can then easily fit into a militarized local police force and justify actions we might find completely repugnant.
I think that sort of background applies to many newly born Democrats who rebel against the GW Bush era by supporting
the other team, including similar military and oppressive actions because of simple psychological tendencies.
Deceit and Self-Deception offer many roads to perdition.
How many of us can really hold ourselves accountable for heinous actions, when it is so easy to blame someone else?
Especially if you have the backing and support of national rationales, patently false as they may be.

http://www.musicboxfilms.com/informant-movies-70.php

Informant is a fascinating portrait of Brandon Darby, a radical left-wing activist turned FBI informant. In 2005, Darby became an overnight hero when he traveled to Katrina-devastated New Orleans and braved toxic floodwaters to rescue a stranded friend. Soon after, he co-founded Common Ground, a successful grassroots relief organization. But over the next few years, he began hiding a shocking secret. After two young protestors were arrested at the 2008 Republican National Convention, Darby revealed he had been instrumental in their indictment as an FBI informant. Today, having renounced his left-wing past, he is a tea-party darling who writes regularly for the right-leaning website Breitbart.com.

The only film with access to Darby since his public confession, Informant meticulously constructs a picture of his life – before and after the many death threats he has received - through interviews and tense reenactments starring Darby himself. Darby's version of events is accompanied - and often contradicted - by acquaintances and expert commentators, posing complicated questions about trust and the nature of reality. As David Hanners of St. Paul Pioneer Press suggests, "When you interview people about Brandon Darby, you realize that everyone has a different idea of who he is.”

In addition to trying to unlock the mystery of Brandon Darby, Informant offers an powerful insider look at the hidden use of informants in contemporary America – an especially timely issue in light of the recent leaks about government surveillance.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/934604446/hit-and-stay

I was at a local Vets for Peace event and one of the guys was part of Catonsville Nine and said a guy made a documetary about them.

Hit and Stay is a feature-length documentary about the antiwar movement, from the Vietnam War to the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Hit and Stay is a feature-length documentary about the antiwar movement. It takes an in-depth look at the Vietnam War era activists who attacked the Selective Service system and attempted to throw a wrench into the U.S. war machine.

Hit and Stay will be the definitive documentary about the Catonsville Nine and the actions that followed—the so-called Catholic Left, a group comprised largely of priests and nuns who destroyed draft records and raided the corporate offices of companies that profited from the war. This documentary tells their story in their own words with more archival footage and activists interviewed than any prior film. Interviewees include Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Bill Ayers, Amy Goodman, and over 30 activists from draft board actions. Hit and Stay seeks to be a major conversation-starter about the antiwar movement (then and now).
