Top Ten Conservative Idiots of the week

Shut It Down Edition

Well, it's Friday in China. Happy Mid-Autumn festival to all the Chinese people here on DU. I am eating my moon cake in Suzhou and giving you all the new installment of the Top Ten list. Let's see who made the cut. John Boehner (1), the lightweight, is our hands down favorite, the GOP Election Clown Car (3) is beginning its put-put down the highway, Pat Roberston (7) gets his knickers in a twist and Phil Gingrey (10) redefines chutzpah. And as always, don't forget the key.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]
John Boehner

Now comes the meltdown of all time. See, Obamacare and the ACA really makes the GOP go apeshit. Why? Because Obamacare and the ACA will make health care cost less, will cost less than projected, and may cost Americans as little as $100 a month. We can't have that. Big Pharma, Big Insurance companies and Big private medicine lobbyists need the gravy train. Less cost and more options is bad for the bottom line.

Enter the Ohio Tearduct! John Boehner (R-Primary Challenge) has gone “all-in” to kill the ACA, even if it means running the national and international economies into the ground. According to Business Week:

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Bad news for anybody hoping to avoid another budget crisis: Late Tuesday afternoon, National Review‘s Robert Costa broke the news that House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) will cave to the Republican Party’s right wing and introduce a continuing resolution that strips funding for Obamacare. Senate Democrats will block this, and then … well, nobody knows for sure. If somebody doesn’t figure out something by Sept. 30, the government will shut down.

Great! Another government shutdown. . .more downgrading of the US economy. . .more economic upheaval. Which means the do nothing Congress will have done something. . .but I would have wanted them to keep doing nothing because when they do something, they screw everything up worse.

John of Orange continues his Obama bashing by accusing Obama of not “talking to” or “negoitating with the GOP.” For those who don't understand that meme, I will explain: “Obama, you will do everything we want. If you don't, we will accuse you of being partisan and unwilling to compromise. We will not compromise. You must.” Usually, Obama caves under this pressure. Not this time over the ACA and Tearduct won't have that. So he fearmongers to the anti-Communist Cold War hangovers.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]House Republican leaders released a web video attacking President Barack Obama for his willingness to negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin to resolve the crisis in Syria but not with the GOP to lift the United States' debt ceiling.

Okay. Working with international leaders to stop a despot from killing his own people in his vain attempt to keep power = bad. Working with selfish national leaders so they can use this to usurp the president and take over again = good. I see how it works. Thanks for the leader in “How to be a complete fucking asshole,” Johnny. I'll give you some vodka and orange fake tan spray so you can feel good about yourself.

But, John of Small Timer Status has support. Enter teabagger demi-God and avid water drinker Marco Rubio (R-Waterboy).

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]WATERBOY: The American people have made clear they want Washington to keep the government open but also need protection from ObamaCare’s harmful effects. Today’s announcement would accomplish what the American people have been asking of Congress. A solution is within sight in order to avert another crisis of Washington’s creation. President Obama and his allies in Congress should abandon their threats of shutting down the government and instead work with Republicans to pass this proposal that would keep government open while preventing taxpayer dollars from being used to inflict ObamaCare’s damage on people’s jobs, incomes, current health plans and doctor relationships.

Uhh.. .what? Obama is threatening to shutdown the government? Since when? According to whom? And can I get some of that good weed you're smoking, Marco? Since no one who isn't hi would say or believe such drivel.

But Obama came out swinging hard. Just look at this smackdown MMA style on the Congressional Republicans, including reminding them of something the GOP told us for eight years after 2000: “GOP, you lost the election. Get over it!”

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]
"It passed both houses of Congress. The Supreme Court ruled it constitutional. It was an issue in last year's election and the candidate who called for repeal lost," he said to applause. "Republicans in the House have tried to repeal or sabotage it about 40 times. They've failed every time."

He went after Republicans for suggesting they might risk a government shutdown or debt default if Obama refuses to defund or delay the implementation Obamacare. "Some Republicans in the House of Representatives who are promising to shut down the government at the end of this month if they can't shut down the Affordable Care Act," he said. "And if that scheme doesn't work, some have suggested they won't pay the very bills Congress has already run up."

Smack. Pow. . .he called them extortionists! This is language I want my president using against these hypocritical choads.

Obama finished with one statement that says it all.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]"Are they really willing to hurt people just to score political points? I hope not."

Don't hope too hard. You know they will.

Dave Carney

Wendy Davis. You know the name. You know what she's done and what she's doing. Guess what. Our favorite Texas woman since Ann Richards and Molly Ivins (I miss them so much).

DU's favorite Texas Lege member was first deciding on whether she would run for Texas Governor, which caused a huge surge in her fundraising coffers and exposure. . .but finally she announced she will run for two offices. Someone Texans can be proud of could be their next governor, since Rick Roll is finally leaving to go where secessionists like to go: obvilion.

But, it didn't take long for the Texas GOP to start throwing the mud at her. Enter Dave Carney. He's Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott's top adviser. We will learn more about Mr. Abbott in the coming months, but one thing I can tell you now: He really hates gay people.

Anyway, back to Carney. According to this mensa member, Wendy Davis is “”too stupid to be governor.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]A month ago, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott (R), who is seeking to succeed Rick Perry as governor, came under fire for tweeting to thank a supporter for a sexist attack on a potential Democratic opponent. Now, his top political adviser has stepped into the same quagmire, tweeting that State Senator Wendy Davis (D) is “too stupid to be governor.”

He seriously said that.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Total Recall in CO (and why Wendy Davis is too Stupid to be Governor) http://t.co/NcLglHHRlD via @robbiecooper #inquringmindsliketoknow
— Dave Carney (@granitewinger) September 12, 2013

Let's examine this. For six years, Texas had the Global Village Idiot and dry drunk George W. Bush as governor. For the past thirteen years, they have had Rick Perry, super-genius, as their governor. And the GOP is saying Wendy Davis is too stupid. Sexist, stupid and just plain moronic. Good luck Wendy. You have our support here.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]
2014/16 GOP Clown Car

I love election season. The pandering, the stupid. . .the “who can out fascist each other in the GOP primaries.” It's a fun time. I remember at a GOP debate for president the candidates being asked if they didn't believe in evolution to raise their hands and I believe six out of the fourteen did (including Sam Brownback, Mike Pence, Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum and Mike Huckabee). As people who watch politics as much as we do, that has to make you cringe, cry and laugh all at the same time.

So, let's look at the clown car update for this week:

1: In the 2016 presidential election, two names are leading the pack now. I know it's early, and it's New Hampshire, but Iowa and New Hampshire (and South Carolina) are always important as building blocks. So, who is leading leading the pack now?

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are neck and neck leading the potential Republican field in 2016 in key primary state New Hampshire, a new poll shows.

Paul got 20 percent of the GOP primary vote to Christie’s 19 percent in the Public Policy Polling survey released Wednesday. In third, at 14 percent, was former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte came in fourth in her home state, at 12 percent, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz followed at 10 percent, and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan tied at 7 percent.

Chris the Rotund and the Kentucky Rug Doctor lead the pack; for now. I'm surprised “Carnival” Cruz isn't doing better, but I don't expect a Canadian to do well running for American president. But, look own low Rubio is. Don't worry, he'll do something stupid, blame Obama and shoot up in the polls.

2: More from New Hampshire, and this time, we've got more than just stupid, we have sexism and extreme stupid. Former NH state senator Jim Rubens is looking to get Jeanne Shaheen booted from office on election day. Probably won't happen, she's polling really high and the people loved her as governor too.

Anyway, Rubens decided the best way to take down Shaheen is to blame women for workplace violence. Granted, this is from 2009, but. . .hey, the GOP uses things that are thirty years old against us. This is only four.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]RUBENS: “The collaborative, flexible, amorphously-hierarchical American economy is shutting out ordinary men who were once the nation’s breadwinners in living-wage labor and manufacturing jobs,” Rubens wrote. “Because status success is more vital to the male psychology, males are falling over the edge in increasing numbers.”

God damn women. Go back into the kitchen where you belong. . .make my dinner and make my babies! And that 19th amendment. . .GONE!!! Expect a bunch of really “funny” jokes to come out about this guy. . .jokes about black eyes and chains in the kitchen. I'll let Gene Wilder say it for me:

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]

3: Expect more tears from the Ohio Tearduct. As I quickly mentioned in the #1 entry, John-boy has a primary challenge.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Businessman Eric Gurr is challenging Boehner for the speaker's congressional seat, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Gurr told the paper he decided to run against Boehner after he backed U.S. military action in Syria.

"It was a tipping point," Gurr said. "I'm not a big fan of getting involved in the internal politics of another country."

Gurr went “grrrr” when he heard Boehn-err wanted to go to w-arr. Get the popcorn.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]
Brent Girouex

Time to throw up, folks. In Iowa (sorry, Iowa. . .need to mention you guys again), there is a guy named Brent Girouex. He is an Evangelical, pentacostal pastor at the Victory Fellowship Church in Council Bluffs in charge of helping gay boys “find the light of Jesus” and give up the gay. Well, I will say he was a pastor.

He had a novel way of getting the gay out of people. . .he believed in raping the gay away.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Girouex, who is not longer a pastor at the Victory Fellowship Church, believed that he could rape away the gay by “praying while he had sexual contact” with the boys, all in an effort to keep them “sexually pure” for God.

Who would Jesus molest? Seriously. . .you're raping boys because it's all in Jesus's name. Hey, at least you prayed while you were raping boys, scumbag. We wouldn't want anything weird going on while you did this to at least twelve boys.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Since Girouex confessed to having sex with four underage boys, eight additional young men have come forward saying they were sexually violated by the 31-year-old pastor.

What he told police is just sicker.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]According to reports, he told police that “when they would ejaculate, they would be getting rid of the evil thoughts in their mind.”

I just lost my lunch on that comment. This guy deserves to be locked up for years. What is his prison term?

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Iowa pastor and youth counselor Brent Girouex, who claimed with a straight face that he was trying to “cure” teenage boys of their “homosexual urges” by having sex with them, has had his sentence reduced from 17 years in prison to sex offender treatment and probation.

Are you fucking kidding me? Why not just give the guy a God damn medal? “The State of Iowa presents you, Brent Girouex, with this medal of commendation for trying to rape away gayness in young boys. Now, there's a boy scout camp. Enjoy your summer.” I am not making light of this or a joke out of it. This is repulsive and the justice system that allowed it is broken beyond repair.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]
George Zimmerman

Oh, I am sick of seeing this asshole's name. Yes. He is an asshole. Grade A, Prime cut, board certified asshole. George Zimmerman got away with murdering an unarmed black kid and now walks away like he's above the law. . .because he is. And he has apologists to say how great he is. Even ones that are completely racist to the core.

His biggest sycophant is some guy named Frank Taffe. Let's look at what this jackass has done and said recently.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Yesterday, after George Zimmerman was taken into custody for allegedly threatening his estranged wife with a gun, HLN turned to a familiar source for commentary: Zimmerman's neighbor and de facto media emissary, Frank Taaffe. In an interview with HLNTV.com reporter Graham Winch, Taaffe argued that Zimmerman was distraught because his wife, Shellie, was trying to take his Rottweiler. "Now, that's pretty vindictive," Taaffe said.

Won't you think of the poor rottie? So, let me get this straight. He can kill a black kid armed with iced tea and candy. . .and threaten violence against his wife, who is divorcing him, because he wants the family dog. And that's not “pretty vindictive?”

Further on in the article:

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Shortly after Zimmerman's July acquittal on murder charges, Taaffe appeared on two episodes of the white-separatist podcast, The White Voice, and unleashed a string of racist diatribes. At the time, he claimed that he had gone on the show in response to a routine interview request. "I was invited," he told Mother Jones. "End of story." But in mid-August Taaffe teamed up with The White Voice's cohost Joe Adams, a white-power activist who has authored racist screeds such as the Save the White People Handbook, to launch a new weekly white-power podcast called Standing Our Ground.

Okay, you were invited. You could have said “no, I do not want to be associated with racists and bigots. . .but since Frank is one. . .he went on the show and podcasts racism.

However, not all people in Lake Mary are feeling comfortable with innocent Georgie around. Apparently, some thing he is a ticking time bomb.

Police Chief Steve Bracknell had an email exchange with one of the residents of Lake Mary.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]In an email exchange with a Lake Mary resident critical of the department’s initial decision not to arrest or charge Zimmerman, Bracknell appears to agree with the writer’s description of Zimmerman, acquitted in July of murdering Martin, an unarmed black teenager, as “a ticking time bomb”.

“Zimmerman is a Sandy Hook, Aurora waiting to happen,” the resident, Santiago Rodriguez, told Bracknell in his first email, seeking an explanation for why Lake Mary officers did not charge Zimmerman.

“Your reference to Sandy Hook … I agree,” Bracknell replied.

If your department didn't fuck up the investigation and if the DA's office cared enough about a black kid's life to do their job correctly, then justice would be served and the ticking time bomb would be in prison where he belongs.

Sorry, Steve. The next person this guy shoots, the blood is also on your hands.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]
Tom Corbett

Pennsylvania governor and one-term loser Tom Corbett has done is absolute best to destroy the state and allow his behind-the-scenes handlers (Karl Rove and the Koch Brothers) to make as much money off the state as possible.

He is about as right wing as they come. He, like Scott Walker, Rick Scott, uber-loon Jan Brewer, “Howdy Doody” Bobby Jindal, and Hairpiece Rick Perry, has worked to kill Obamacare in their states by doing things to inhibit, restrict or flat out deny the implementation of it, including suing to get it overturned.

All that changed this week. Corbett now loves him some Obamacare.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett may be the 10th Republican governor to back a Medicaid expansion in his state under President Barack Obama's health care reform law, according to reports.

Corbett declared in February that Pennsylvania wouldn't open Medicaid to more poor people under the law, but he will reverse that position and support a version of the expansion, Lancaster Online reported Thursday, citing anonymous sources. Corbett will make a Medicaid announcement soon, two Corbett aides confirmed to PoliticsPA.

He was against it before he was for it? Staying the course and all that Republican shit is now dead. I wonder why this idiot (along with Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad) changed his mind. Maybe because his approval ratings are in the shitter.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]The latest Franklin & Marshall College poll shows, for example, that only 20 percent of responding registered voters feel Corbett's performance in office to date merits his re-election, as compared to 69 percent who believe that it is time for a change.

By another barometer, Corbett's job performance measurements have skidded to a new low, with only 16 percent of the poll's respondents rating Corbett as an "excellent" or "good" governor through his first 30 months in office. That was a drop from 25 percent in May.

Hmm. . .I smell a lot of governorships changing hands soon. Wisconsin, Ohio, Maine, Florida, Texas, Arizona. . .now Pennsylvania. Enjoy your one term, teabag governors. . .then welcome to the shit heap of history.

Pat Robertson

A few things really make conservative go batshit crazy. Gun control is one. We just had another mass shooting, this time in Washington DC. The shooter heard voices, had a CCW permit and apparently had high security clearance. . .but the NRA will claim that now is not the time to discuss gun control.

Abortion is another one because, to conservative, all life is sacred. . .except for muslims, OB/GYN doctors that perform abortions, criminals and people they disagree with.

A third is homosexuality. Gay people make conservative feel all icky inside. . .not porn movie lesbian action. They think two women kissing is hot, depending on whether or not the women are pinup models.

Pat Robertson is no exception, except he masks his homosexual hatred (I don't like homophobia, because phobias are fears) Apparently, according to “Pat,” Marion believes that gay people wear rings that cut the hands of people in order to spread HIV and AIDS to everyone. As we all know, just touching someone with HIV passes it to good, straight Christians. And we also all know that gay people are vicious, disease. This is just too good to pass up, so I am going to post all of the sound bytes. Click the link for the video. It's entertaining watching someone in a skid purposely continue to do things to make the skid worse.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]While responding to a question from a woman who wondered if it was wrong for the church not to inform her that a man she was driving to worship services is “dying of AIDS,” Robertson admitted that he “used to think it was transmitted by saliva and other things, now they say it may be sexual contact.”

“What to say if you’re driving an elderly man whose got AIDS? Don’t have sex with them,” Robertson said, “unless there’s a cut or some bodily fluid transmission, I think you’re not going to catch it.”

Okay. . .he's not doing too badly here. HIV is a bodily fluid transmittable disease, mostly through blood, but almost sex (though is is more likely to happen with blood contact than sexual fluid contact, according to the WHO). Continue, reverend.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]“There are laws now, I think the homosexual community has put these draconian laws on the books that prohibit people from discussing this particular affliction, you can tell somebody you had a heart attack, you can tell them they’ve got high blood pressure, but you can’t tell anybody you’ve got AIDS,” he continued.

Umm. . .what? The gay community has put in laws? They have that power to usurp state legislatures? They can make laws like that. Good. . .next step. LET THEM MARRY then, Pat!

The bigotry continues. It is at this point that the host realizes that Pat is in a tailspin and his klan hoods are showing, so he attempt to steer the conversation away from the good Reverend's anti-gay conspiracy theory. No such luck

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]“You know what they do in San Francisco, some in the gay community there they want to get people so if they got the stuff they’ll have a ring, you shake hands, and the ring’s got a little thing where you cut your finger,” Robertson said. “Really. It’s that kind of vicious stuff, which would be the equivalent of murder.”

Does he have proof of this? I bet your ass he doesn't. . .and I bet your ass he pulled this out of his ass to spout it to the dumbasses in his audience that lap it up like heroin to a junkie.

Despite all their best efforts, CBN could not censor the racism. Oh, the power of the internets.

Epic fail, folks. It's still there. Maybe Pat should join Glenn Beck and Alex Jones. We need more crazy, unfounded conspiracy theories out there.

David Vitter

Louisiana diaper pervert and hooker user David Vitter is back again. This time, more brazen and dumber than ever.

It is too stupid to spend a lot of time on. . .but here's the jist. Because the Democrats investigated his use of hookers, he wants Democrats investigated for attempted bribery because of a proposal to deny lawmakers's employer contributions for their federal health benefits in the new health exchanges under Obamacare if there is “probable cause” that the lawmaker solicited prostitutes. Vitter got his diaper in a twist.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]In a letter to the Senate Ethics Committee, the Louisiana Republican seeks an investigation of Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and Ethics Chairwoman Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., contending that the offices of the two senators are running afoul of the rules with “attempted bribery.”

Quite a stretch there, David. Luckily, the two Democratic Senators Diaperboy mentioned, Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid told him where he can tell his next hooker where to stick it.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]“Senator Vitter has manufactured a bizarre and phony attack that demeans the Senate,” Boxer said in a statement.

“Senator Vitter’s charges are absurd and baseless,” said Reid spokeswoman Kristen Orthman. “This is nothing more than Senator Vitter’s desperate attempt to change the subject from his previous ethics issues.”

They are a lot nicer than I am. I would have told him. . .don't like it, stop using hookers, asshole. Oh, and piss off too!

Funny how that simple solution eludes David Vitter.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]
Eric Cantor

This man is rapidly becoming someone that makes my skin crawl every time I hear his name. Him, Paul Ryan and the rest of these “young gun” Republicans.

Cantor has never found a government program that benefits people, save the MIC, PIC and Big Pharma/business/industry, that he didn't want to destroy. Because it's his priority, the House, mostly along party lines with some Republican defections, voted 217 – 210 to slash $4B from the SNAP program. This only helps one in every seven Americans buy food and eat.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]The vote comes after the House defeated a wide-ranging farm bill in June because many conservatives believed the cuts to the nearly $80 billion-a-year food stamp program weren't high enough. That bill would have made around $2 billion a year in cuts.

Food stamps have for decades been part of farm legislation. But House leaders separated the food and farm programs after the bill's June defeat and passed a farm-only bill in July. The Republican leaders, led by Majority Leader Eric Cantor of Virginia, then crafted the separate food stamp bill in an effort to appease conservatives who have been aggressively pushing for cuts to domestic food aid.

Tea baggers want the cuts to be deeper? So more American starve and go to bed hungry? What heart do these people have?

Added to that, this slash and burn shit on SNAP is one of Eric Cantor's priorities and you have greed, avarice with a heaping side of scumbag. Ayn Rand would be proud.

As soon as this passed, Eric Cantor then jacked off on his picture of John Galt, strangled a kitten, kicked a baby down the stairs and set fire to a homeless person, laughing and saying “if you were rich, I wouldn't do this to you, peon! Now DIE QUICKLY!!!”

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]
Phil Gingrey

And finally. . .(sigh). That odious piece of flith, Saxby Chambliss (that morphed Max Cleland's face into Osama Bin Laden's in 2002 to defeat Cleland in the 2002 Georgia Senate race) is retiring and going away. Goodbye, fucktard.

The three top morons looking to replace him are Paul Broun, who is apparently a “doctor” of some kind. . .Jack Kingston, who is apparently completely brainless. . .and Phil Gingrey, who has balls as big as church bells and brains the size of church mice.

While whining to lobbyists in a closed door session (gotta love people who tape these things. Smart phones are awesome), Gingrey complained about his Congressional salary being too small.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.) lamented in a closed-door meeting Wednesday that his staff can get rich as lobbyists while he is "stuck here making $172,000," according to the National Review Online.

NRO's Jonathan Strong reports that Gingrey said that staff may not make a lot of money on Capitol Hill, “but in a few years they can just go to K Street and make $500,000 a year. Meanwhile I’m stuck here making $172,000.”

Apparently, $172K is not enough to live on. That's $14,333 a month gross. That's almost as much as one in seven Americans on the SNAP program that Gingrey voted to slash. Nice huh. I make $81K a year teaching, but I had to leave the United States to get that. This piece of shit can't survive on his salary, the perks he gets (free health care), his franking privilege, the lobbyist buyoffs, free trips, steak and vodka. . .come on, think of the poor Congressmen and Senators that slave from Tuesday to Thursday to work in Congress. With all the lights and cameras. . .and don't forget, all that vacation time.

And Gingrey only make $172,000 a year. I'm crying. Literally crying. Not for him. . .but for the voters in his district that keep electing this obtuse asshole who complains about his salary, when their average salary is only $49,000. Actually, according to the same article, Gingrey makes $174K a year, not $172K. So he's stupid, greed, ignorant and a liar. Perfect replacement for Saxby Chambliss.

All I can say to Phil Gingrey is if you don't make enough, resign and find a job where you do. You said K Street. . .why not be a speed bump on K Street? It would fit your intelligence level.

Better yet, do what the Ohio Tearduct will do. Blame your pitiful salary on Obama and threaten to shutdown the government until your salary is seven figures. Wait. . .that would give him ideas.

See you next week.

I cannot recall being so disgusted by the Top10 column before...it used to be ironically humorous. Now, it's just gross.

I do not in any way blame you, dear author. It is the material you have to work with...

I agree. . .the people have just gotten odious. It's sickening. And narrowing it down to ten is getting harder and harder. I left out almost 15 others I could have used.

I really do not like your version of the Top 10.
I think you are being mean-spirited without any wit.
It's become a curse-athon, and not a particularly clever one.

It's just not fun at all to read anymore, like it was in the old days.
I know this is hard work, and that you put a lot of effort into it, and I'm glad SOMEONE is doing it, but I find this version of the Top 10 to be shallow, typo-ridden, and all about you.

I mean... this is about the cleverest part of all this, and it's just not the least bit funny. It reads like something a high school sophomore would write:

"As soon as this passed, Eric Cantor then jacked off on his picture of John Galt, strangled a kitten, kicked a baby down the stairs and set fire to a homeless person, laughing and saying “if you were rich, I wouldn't do this to you, peon! Now DIE QUICKLY!!!”"

In general, I wouldn't really care.
However, I feel that the Top 10 represents DU more than just about any other single item.
It's what first brought me to DU back in 2001.
I really don't want to tell people about DU, and that I'm a member, if this is going to be the first thing that they see. I find it embarrassing.

Anyway... this isn't meant as a personal attack.
I know it's a lot of work, and that you're getting a lot of people who like it.
I just felt it was important to let you know that not everybody is a fan...

IF you want to take over, step up to plate.

Better yet, convince EarlG to do it again and I'll stop. Since I'm a high school sophomore with a God complex and making this "All about me."

And you shouldn't try.

Again, I know how much time and effort doing this kind of thing takes.
I don't have that kind of time, and I suppose EarlG doesn't either.

'Nuff said.

As for the humor. . .sometimes the material I have to work with doesn't give opportunities for humor simply because it's just terrible crap that happens.

As for the typos. . .I will state again. Dyslexic. . .English not first language.
