...his camera on the eyes of each subject.

Beautifully framed, with the blurring of the background giving the photos a painterly feel.

I only wish there was more info provided on the people in the photos.

I did not see any additional info at the link.

3. Why have we gone so damn far astray?

Do you remember when these words meant something?

"Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

If you are Hispanic, black, homeless (oops) wretched refuse...Republicans want you to die.

Southern California when I was there.

We should be ashamed. Someone soon will be writing our version of Les Miserables. ...

6. Try volunteering to serve on a food line ...you'll see and get to know many of them.

I think everyone should do this at least once. You might even become a regular volunteer ...if you have a heart.

7. Been There... Done That... And We Were Good...

We were so good, that the local restaurants, grocery stores, and the Catholic Church we fed people out of, complained that we might be cutting into their action.

We had to have a meetup with the Catholic Priest to remind the Parishioners what it meant to be Catholic.

On the good side... everybody got fed... really well.

The fact that we haven't solved this is a real indictment of us as a country.

12. Homelessness in Fresno
Wed Sep 25, 2013, 12:10 AM
Sep 2013

After two days of destroying property, the City of Fresno completely dismantled and removed the homeless from several of the largest encampments in downtown Fresno on August 27. Much of the homeless people’s property was put in roll off dumpsters by city workers where they say it can be "reclaimed." All of the Golden State off ramp encampment, Santa Clara street, F street, and G street south of the Rescue Mission are now gone. Nearly two hundred people have moved to other encampments or they are planning on returning once the dust settles.

14. I've seen eyes like that before.

Just like the eyes of the man in glasses. #4

But they were the eyes of animals that we rescued, or tried to rescue.

Whether they were starved, beaten, abandoned, or any number of mistreatments that humans(?) do to animals...

Those are the eyes, of people or animals, that are saying 'why me?'.

'What happened?'.

What did I do?

The photographer really caught the essence of these people.

Now I have to see what's wrong with my glasses. They seem to be leaking.
