2. I think you're right on with that comparison.

Say what you will about Capitalism versus Communism, when given a choice, people will choose the ability to make their own destinies.

Same thing applies here. The choice is now between social repressives and social progressives. What will people choose?

7. I worry they are going to try to mask themselves

I am worried that they are going to try to rebrand themselves as "social moderates", thinking of what Jeb Bush said about the GOP candidates a couple of weeks go. A lot of people in this country might have short enough memories to go for Jeb in 2016, if he manages to come of as the alternative to bat-shit crazy with an "R" after his name. The GOP already makes sure not to mention his brother.

Of course it would all be a nicer mask over the same old crap.

But are afraid to say so. I believe there are some "moderates" waiting in the wings just biding time until the "Crazy Era" passes.
