The Old Testament has a couple stories of women who worked at high levels or took up arms to "overthrow the tyrants" (Judith, Susanna, Esther...). It's not beyond the scope of understanding to think that a woman felt as she had nothing left to lose, she would be willing to try and start something, or be part of a radical attempt do make a statement.

For whatever reason, on whatever side of the political spectrum...

Of course, it could just be a disgruntled employee or domestic problem.
