"How do you become a Mom if you are into birth control?"

Is Rush really that CLUELESS? You mean he really believes only unmarried sluts use contraceptives? What PLANET is this man from?

How does he think the average mother only has 2, not 5, not 10, certainly not 19, children? Mothers use BC BEFORE they want children. Yes, even when married, Rush. Mothers use BC in between having children. Mothers use BC when they don't want MORE children.

Well, I suppose since Rush himself is sterile, he would never have experienced any of this with his multiple wives.

I have read that this is now being called the year of the "Birth Control MOMS". These right wing, religious conservative MEN just don't get the depth of the outrage among women, and WHY it is ALL WOMEN they are attacking.

overworked, mom with more children than she can handle because she had no access to birth control. Loving all your children in one thing and a lot different than being able to care for all your children.

listen to him and talk about him.

This is infotainment at its best (or worst). The best thing we can do as Democrats is to stop listening and talking about him.

" Some 98 percent of sexually active Catholic women have used contraceptive methods banned by the church, research published on Wednesday showed.

A new report from the Guttmacher Institute, the nonprofit sexual health research organization, shows that only 2 percent of Catholic women, even those who regularly attend church, rely on natural family planning."

talk out of both sides of his mouth. Terrible thing is their own wives are taking the birth control pill. Gee those women are loose women because they are taking the pill. Shame of those women. I wonder how they would like their wives, daughters or granddaughters being called slut? Not much I bet.

to prevent further children to be good parenting. When I had my first kid and we were living hand to mouth and I didn't want to bring any other kids into that situation I considered I was being a good parent. We chose to have our second child after we were in a stable place and felt we could give her a good life. Our third child was not planned, but we love her anyway and have taken steps to prevent further unplanned children. A good parent does what's best for their family.... and controlling how many kids you have and when at least for me is a good way to ensure my kids have a good life and have food and a roof over their head and opportunities when they get older.

Some people who use birth control never do choose to have a family. Others choose to have, say, 2 children rather than 10.

And where are the Dads in all this?

He never grew out of his teen years, emotionally. Which makes him the perfect spokesman for today's Republican Party.

Because he hasn't had children, this warps his understanding on this issue and many others. The fact that he makes $28mm/year to push a anti-majority agenda means he has no capacity to empathize and no conscience to care. I'm happy knowing that the man, a lion on the radio, dares not show his face in public and is consigned to live his days out, hiding behind the gates on his prison-estate.

I know *you* don't think that, but anytime the argument like the one in the OP is used, this must be said.

Just like those who state that they use BC for 'medical reasons' - their reasons are no less or more moral than those who use it to prevent pregnancy. Don't fall into their trap of justifying that it's ok for *those* people and not the others.

NO woman has to justify her reasons for using it. Not to Limpballs, Congress, the general public, or anyone.

Ever.

20. I took contraceptives as a 12 year old for medical reasons,

I took BC as an unmarried woman. I took BC when I married before I wanted children, in between children, and when I didn't want any more children. I have used contraceptives almost my entire life as a woman of childbearing age.

What ended that for me was when my husband had a vasectomy (BIRTH CONTROL TOO!), and of course, when a woman goes through menopause that ends the need for BC.

Birth control is simply a part of being a woman in the 21st Century.

I doubt that he's actually sterile; or at least I doubt that the proposition has ever been tested. I don't think any of his marriages has ever been consumated.
