ACA/Obama-Care in away makes getting health insurance more like auto insurance now

Geico - 15 minutes could save you 15% or more on car insurance. Or the discount double check from State Farm. If you go to most auto insurance companies website they often compare plans and show you the ones you qualify for.

Those life insurances markets do the same thing, they shop around for the best policy that fits your needs.

We have heard theses over and over every where so what's the difference now in the health insurance? You don't like your coverage with your job you can now go compare companies at those market exchange things. Um 20 minutes could save you not only lots of money but your life. Sounds like an ad. Its exactly the opposite of social medicine actually in away it de-monopolized the health insurance industry created more affordable choices thus new companies. Isn't that capitalism?

The mandates don't make it socialism, we are required by law to have car insurance to drive or own a car.

Anyway that's the first thing I thought about when this all went public Oct.1. Obama-Care - 20 minutes could save you not only lots of money on your health insurance but also save your life.

And you aren't eligible for the exchanges if you have employer coverage.

We had Geico for 20 years in NY, which included husband, wife, under 25 daughter. No accidents. When we moved to Florida, minus the daughter, Geico wanted to double our insurance premium. Same people minus one, no accidents, and same autos. Why? THE STATE. We were told that because we changed states to one which doesn't have state inspections, too many uninsured people, more accidents, this was the reason the rates went up so much.

Don't think it isn't the same with health insurance?

The ACA works much like car insurance laws in that the individual mandate forces insurers to compete for your business, and when there's a lot of competition, premiums typically go down.

other insurance markets, you can choose from any company that offers coverage in that state. In the exchanges, you can only choose from companies that have met the criteria - it might be a dozen or it might be three or four.

Who said mandates to pay premiums to for-profit insurance companies was socialism, anyway? They need a dictionary. It's a wet-dream for capitalists - a captive market of consumers, obligated to buy their product.

A drivers license is not mandatory nor is auto insurance. I believe State IDs are mandatory.

How are people proving who they are online on these exchanges? I think voter suppression happens to people with or without IDs by Republicans in every election.
