It's Time for an "Address to the Nation" by President Obama.

That's what I think, anyhow. In prime time. Carried by all networks. He should lay the whole thing out, point out why these economic measures must be passed, and why they should not have any conditions placed on them by Republicans. He should make clear how they are being obstructed, and point out that the Republicans have been doing this throughout his term in office.

He should speak about how not passing these two bills will affect people, directly and plainly. He should remind Americans that our system of government is supposed to be an orderly one, following the Constitution, and that intentional obstruction by a minority of elected legislators of fundamentally required budget and debt limit resolutions and bills is not compatible with a democratic republic.

He should name names, give examples, and call for immediate action on the parts of both the population and the Congress. He should then mention that there will be an election in 2014 that will select all members of the House of Representatives and that we should think carefully before electing members of Congress who have in their hearts the destruction of the United States. He should call on all Americans to contact their members of Congress and tell them to stop this nonsense and keep the United States solvent and fiscally responsible.

Then, he should simply say, "Good Night," and leave it all hanging in the air for everyone to consider.

He begins to sound pedantic and loses the audience.

Bill Clinton is the master of explaining.

Or Joe Biden could do it.

5. I disagree. It's all in the writing of the address.

President Obama has proven himself as a speaker many times. He can do it again. He owns the "Bully Pulpit."

He's lost a lot, probably from being isolated in the White House, since he was in the first campaign in 2008.

Plus, the strategy of going around Congress and straight to the people is ineffective. None of the key adversaries are in election battles.

You don't want to have an address unless you know what the result is going to be.

We can successfully predict the others. Waiting until 11:59 P.M. is not in order for this.

life examples. It's not politics. It's a law that needs explaining to the public.

I think because of the Black Derangement Syndrome going on, Obama needs to bring in some other folks. Frankly, he lacks Bill's ability to "splain" things and his attackers are a cult-like following. She's from Kansas...the Midwest.
