Jon Stewart Tells GOP to Own the Shutdown: ‘Don’t Fart And Point at the Dog!’

Jon Stewart called out Republicans on Tuesday for trying to blame the shutdown on Democrats, saying this was their fault all along and they should at least “own it” instead of trying to brush aside all the blame.

Stewart mockingly said, “The party of personal responsibility ain’t taking none.”

He brought up John “Sniffles McGillicuddy” Boehner admitting to George Stephanopoulos that they had a deal for a clean continuing resolution, but the GOP decided against it. That set Stewart off, asking “Did you fucking hear that?”

He continued, “They had a deal, but Obamacare!” Stewart offered some advice for the Republicans on the shutdown.

“Own it! Don’t fart and point at the dog!”

to pin the blame elsewhere. It's funny and captures what's going on in a way that's easy to grasp.
