I think we should take the short term deal now that cuts to Obamacare is off the table ..

We have already given everything up we can - so there isn't much more that pukes can get ...

So I think this is really a face saving maneuver for them and we should let them.

If they act smart -then we are back to where we currently are and the ball will be back in their court.

No. I want a full term deal and 95% cut on both of the Republican porks - MIC and Oil & Gas. Divert the funds to social programs and jobs creation.

And then I want the Republicans to resign en-masse creating vacancies that can give the gavel to Pelosi. The replacements will be about 75% Democratic.

Yeah, let's do this again in a few weeks instead of running a country and growing an economy.

How about R's actually negotiate the freaking budget itself over the next year, eh?

House Republicans gathered Thursday morning to discuss a plan to lift the government’s statutory borrowing limit temporarily to allow for negotiations on a package of deficit reduction and tax reform proposals that could lead to a reopening of the government and an end to the threat of government default.

House Republican leaders jumped on the plan, presented on Wednesday by Representative Paul D. Ryan of Wisconsin, chairman of the House Budget Committee. Meantime, a group of Republican senators has begun meeting with Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Republican leader, to find a bipartisan solution to the twin fiscal impasses.

The senators are examining a year-long resolution funding the government at levels that reflect automatic spending cuts known as sequestration, but with added flexibility to help government agencies and departments deal with the tight budgets. The debt ceiling would also be raised.

A repeal of a tax on medical devices would lend a face-saving fig leaf for conservatives trying to take a bite out of the president’s health care law. And Republicans are eying new income verification procedures to limit access to the health exchanges under the new law.

without telling me to "grow the fuck" that says very little for your persuasion skills.

After listening to the rethugs press conference I have reconsidered that extension is futile. The only solution is demand a clean bill period. You cannot deal with dishonest people

But if they offer a straight up short term debt limit increase with no strings, Dems/Obama should take it even if there is no clean CR passes to open the government.
