(38,613 posts)My current workplace and residence are too retrofitted, or something. During my first few years here, I felt pretty much ALL of them.
It's been probably almost 10 years now
But I guess that's better than noticing one that makes my ceiling fall on me!
yuiyoshida
(45,416 posts)micro quakes constantly in the bay area, nearly every day. Now I don't know if this is true, but someone once said that was a good thing because all those little micro quakes makes it less likely that a larger one will be along any time soon. Not sure I buy into that, but so far... the last big quake was in 1989 in the Bay Area, before that...was the 1906 earthquake...(I am not counting the Los Angeles Quakes but only for Northen California) anyway...that is a long span between the Big ones.
Again.. it might be just wishful thinking, but if that is in anyway true...I hope we continue to have little ones...

(45,416 posts)I did not feel a thing... I think what upsets me more is what you stated:
Due to a lapse in Federal funding, the USGS Earthquake Hazards Program has suspended most of its operations. While the USGS will continue to monitor and report on earthquake activity, the accuracy or timeliness of some earthquake information products, as well as the availability or functionality of some web pages, could be affected by our reduced level of operation.
Hopefully by Monday...we will get our USGS back.

(45,416 posts)I am down in the bay Area, so I did not notice it, other than the normal little shaking we get when Buses and MUNI light rail trains go by.

(21,691 posts)... the description of the area had me a bit nervous (in addition to the 103 fever I'm running)
plus you can see the epicenter of the 1989 quake from my porch.

(22,215 posts)Apparently the epicenter was in Trinidad, a small coastal town/village north of where I now live.
They've had earthquakes there many times but are frequent the close you get to Petrolia (a place you could not pay me to live).
I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. I heard the flu is going around already this year.
Get well soon!!
