There are many young children who die as a result of abuse

But I don't understand why when that child is a son of a jock, it deserves Breaking News (by Ed). and posting on DU as "Late Breaking News." Similarly, I don't understand why a divorce of a TV personality, too, is considered a "Late Breaking News."

Seems that DU is no different from the rest of the country, where immersing in the lives of "celebrities" is so important for many.

Are the people who post here considered to be superior or above the people in the rest of the country?

I must have missed that screening test when I registered, probably wouldn't have passed muster.

What was the question again?

"Thousands of people use the DU Latest Breaking News Forum as their primary source for news. Please do not "dilute" the forum by starting threads that are not news."

Many threads have been locked for not being exactly newsworthy. They certainly were more relevant to DU mission than any of this garbage.

What will be next? Karsashian (whoever s/he is)?

The 24-hr news and social media have to fill their pages with a lot of garbage. I don't think that DU should follow in this path.
