donation. WTF they think I have a money tree in my back yard or what? I get about 15 e-mails every day from different liberal groups wanting money, frankly I am getting fucking tired of it.

(115,899 posts)They bug me all the time, too - emails and phone calls. The emails go to the spam folder and the phone doesn't get answered. The emails are the result of my naively signing petitions, not gonna do that anymore because once they get your email they never go away. It's like electronic herpes.
Which is not to say I wouldn't want to donate to some of these organizations if I could afford it, but I can't and I got tired of telling them that a long time ago.

(20,600 posts)A drawback if you ever gave them money before. I would use a disposable email address for these purposes, you use it once to do what you want to do like make a donation, and don't care if they have your email because it is disposable. And never ever give them your phone number!

(35,389 posts)every f----g week to join a telephone town hall on how he is working to save SS and Medicare. He is one of the teabaggers, what he wants to do is privatize SS and give you a
voucher for Medicare. I have never got a call from that SOB when I am home, it's always on the answering machine.

(20,600 posts)And then never give it out to these political organizations, it should be optional to give that on any forms they want you to fill out, for example, if you are making some type of donation. If it isn't optional, then I wouldn't join then/donate to them.

(106,886 posts)I think if you've donated before they key a request to that. Those I get are for $10. That's what I can do when I do.
And, you can opt out of email stuff if you need to. Usually at the bottom of the note there is an opt out option.
