If they know how the majority of the country feels, why don't they get with the program? Is it really that bunch of teabaggers who are so influencing them? I say follow the money, i.e., Kochs, but that doesn't even explain it.
The longer they wait, the worse it will get.
I don't get it. To blame it all on Ted Cruz is bullshit, too, imo.

(172,759 posts)they are also 'the little guy' who will get screwed. I wonder how many of them have been affected by this travesty? Can they be proud of this mess they've created?

The extremely wealthy individuals responsible for the shutdown use their wealth to convince the uneducated masses to go along with them, they are able to convince a certain segment of the population but the people they convince are usually not too good at thinking for themselves. The ones who are not wealthy are usually just poorly educated people who have bought what they were sold, they are generally not the people doing the selling.

(179,869 posts)The wraith of so many Americans only makes a difference is these members of the GOP live in the real world and care about people outside their bubble. Many tea party types dislike Wall Street and do not care if they lose the financial backing of Wall Street or the Kochs.
The mainstream GOP types may be scared but they live in the real world. The tea party wing will not listen to the real world and will not back down. This means at some point, Boehner will have to pick between the sane portion of his party or the tea party. I hope that he makes the right choice
