SAN DIEGO — The California attorney general’s office has charged former San Diego Mayor Bob Filner with felony false imprisonment and two misdemeanor counts of battery.

The charges filed Tuesday come just months after allegations of sexual harassment drove Filner to resign.

The criminal case names three Jane Does as victims.

SAN DIEGO — Bob Filner, the former San Diego mayor forced out of office in a storm of sexual harassment allegations, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to a series of false imprisonment and battery charges involving three women, according to the state attorney general.

The California attorney general’s office said that Mr. Filner, who resigned in August with a defiant speech denying that he had violated the law and saying he had been the victim of a “lynch mob,” had been charged with one felony count of false imprisonment by violence, fraud, menace and deceit, and two misdemeanor counts of battery.

Under the terms of a plea bargain announced Tuesday morning, Mr. Filner was to serve three years of probation and to undergo treatment at the directive of a mental health professional. Under the probation, Mr. Filner agreed to home confinement for three months. He will not be permitted to serve on a jury or own a firearm during the course of his probation.

If he violates those conditions, he will be jailed for six months. He could have been sentenced to three years in prison for the felony and one year in county jail for each of the misdemeanors. Sentencing will take place on Dec. 9.

27. These are ALL of my most recent polls, please tell us which polls you consider trolling and why:
Wed Oct 16, 2013, 05:40 AM
Oct 2013

I consider none of them trolling. All but the most recent one, which is simply a survey about smartphones, show DU to be a united, progressive place. Trolling divides this place, my polls reveal how much in common we have politically, even though we fight like cats and dogs, we ultimately, pragmatically and progressively unite on key issues.

This poll indicated that DUers have smartphones and cell phones at almost exactly the rate that a nationwide poll showed about Americans in general.

Do you have a smartphone, non-smart cell phone, or no cell phone?

267 votes, 3 passes
I have a smartphone 142 (53%)
I have a cell phone, but not a smart phone 102 (38%)
I have neither a smartphone, nor a cell phone 23 (9%)

This poll shows that DUers are united in support of a key provision of Obamacare, outlawing charging different premiums based on gender.
Should it be illegal or legal to charge women more than men for health insurance
In your opinion, without regard to current law or proposed laws, on the question of gender equality in health insurance rates:

151 votes, 5 passes

-It should be illegal to charge women more for health insurance based on gender (both genders should be charged equally) 140 (93%)
-It should be legal to charge women more for health insurance based on gender (both genders need not be charged equally) 11 (7%)

This poll shows that DUers are united in support of another key provision of Obamacare, outlawing charging different premiums based on health, disability or preexisting conditions.
Should it be legal to charge the disabled or the sick more for health insurance than others?
This is a question about your opinion and your values, not what is legal or illegal or soon to be illegal.
Which choice is closest to your belief?

46 votes, 2 passes
In my opinion it should be legal to charge the disabled or the sick more for health insurance than others 1 (2%)
In my opinion it should NOT be legal to charge the disabled or the sick more for health insurance than others 45 (98%)

This poll shows that DUers near consensus that this type of naming of teams is racist or offensive. The poll also indicates agreement with Obama's statement criticizing the Washington Redskins name, which preceded this poll.
Which of these names would be *NOT* be racist for a team to call themselves?

26 votes, 1 pass
The Washington Redskins 0 (0%)
The Washington Whiteskins 1 (4%)
The Washington Blackskins 0 (0%)
The Washington Brownskins 0 (0%)
The Washington Yellowskins 0 (0%)
All would be racist or racially insensitive and insulting 23 (88%)
None of the above are racist or racially insulting 2 (8%)

This poll examines what constitutes "honoring Native Americans", a justification for team names and logos.
Does the Washington Redskins' name and logo honor Native Americans or not?

93 votes, 7 passes
-Yes, the name and logo honor Native Americans and financial proceeds go directly to Native Americans as a result 0 (0%)
-Yes, the name and logo honor Native Americans but no financial proceeds go directly to Native Americans as a result 11 (12%)
-No, the name and logo do not honor Native Americans and the logo was not chosen for their benefit 82 (88%)

This poll shows DUers to be almost unanimously in support of protecting Obamacare, as well as being supportive of the Democratic strategy in the Senate and Congress to not allow the debt ceiling and government shutdown threats to dictate changes to existing law. It shows our folks strongly supporting the president.

Do you oppose delaying and defunding Obamacare or not?
To get a statement of the opinion on DU, please vote the choice that is closest to your opinion on the issue at this moment.

217 votes, 3 passes

I oppose delaying and defunding Obamacare 215 (99%)
I support delaying and defunding Obamacare 2 (1%)

Who votes or doesn't vote on them doesn't concern me.

What concerns me is that you vote pass as way of harassing me and continually accuse me of trolling by asking unifying questions of the liberal membership here.

Obsessing? Me obsessing?

You vote "present" in all my polls and frequently comment that you're doing so (of course, you usually go back and carefully undo that vote later, probably hoping to escape notice of the Admins...)

Since you consistently vote in my polls, for the purpose of calling them into question and not offering any opinion of your own --let's be clear about who is obsessing and who is being constructive here.
